Total cumulative sales of VAMA members in the first 6 months of the year reached 163,021 units, up 21% over the same period last year. Of which, commercial vehicles increased by 28%, passenger cars increased by 18% and specialized vehicles increased by 28% over the same period last year.

In terms of origin, the number of domestically assembled vehicles reached 14,355 in June 2025, up 4% compared to May. Particularly, the number of completely imported vehicles reached 17,622 vehicles, up 14% compared to May. This is the fourth consecutive month that VAMA recorded more imported vehicles sold than domestically produced vehicles.
During the first 6 months of the year, Vietnamese people bought 77,119 domestically assembled cars and 85,902 imported cars. Compared to the same period last year, sales of domestically assembled cars increased by 12.9%, while imported cars increased by 29%. The above figures do not fully reflect market trends because there are still many brands that have not joined the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association. Typically, the two car brands with large sales in Vietnam are VinFast and Hyundai.
According to the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), the supply of cars for the Vietnamese market also grew strongly (11.9%) compared to the previous month. In June, about 62,868 cars (including imported and domestically assembled cars) were added to the Vietnamese market.
