On the morning of May 10, the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, the Steering Committee for Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue of the town organized a competition on fire fighting and rescue skills for the "Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Inter-family Team" in Sa Pa town in 2024.
The competition had the participation of 16 teams with 128 athletes, representing 42 "Fire Safety Inter-family Teams" in the area.
The teams went through two rounds: theory (questions and answers about fire prevention and rescue knowledge) and practice (firefighting skills, using firefighting tools; skills in rescuing people and moving property; skills in organizing escape during a fire).
According to the evaluation of the Organizing Committee of the competition, the teams demonstrated their ability to respond and handle fire incidents, their ability to proficiently use fire prevention and rescue tools, thereby improving fire prevention and rescue skills at the facility.
At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Sa Pa ward team; 2 second prizes to Sa Pa and Hoang Lien ward teams; 3 third prizes to Cau May, O Quy Ho and Phan Si Pang ward teams.
Up to now, Sa Pa town has built 62 models of fire safety in residential areas, including 42 models of "Fire Safety Inter-family Teams". This is identified as the first and on-site force participating in fire safety work of families and residential areas in the town.
