In Fashion Week New York 2026, designer Pham Ngoc Anh introduces the Eternal River collection, inspired by the rivers associated with her memories and journey of growing up, on the banks of the Red River in Hanoi , to her growing up years by the Aare and Limmat rivers in Switzerland.
The designs explore the image of flow through materials, colors, and structures. Clear, deep blues evoke glaciers; pleated details, ripples, and flowing cuts create a sense of both softness and durability.
“The river is both soft and strong, but always keeps its deep source. That is the spirit I want to convey in Eternal River – freedom, memory and the endless flow of life." Pham Ngoc Anh shared.
The highlight of Eternal River lies in the rich combination of materials: from soft silk to rough brocade, from modern shimmer to native primitive. In particular, she brought Bao Loc silk (Nhat Minh Silk), Pa Co beeswax brocade, Nga Son water hyacinth bags (Comay Craft), natural fabrics from Les tissus and recycled jewelry from Le's Atelier to the New York catwalk.
The combination of silk and brocade - two seemingly opposite materials - creates a unique visual effect, both elegant and strong, honoring the diverse beauty of all body shapes and skin colors.
Pham Ngoc Anh lived in Switzerland for many years and returned to Vietnam in 2016. She pursues a path that combines fashion with sustainability. She has attended shows in Switzerland, Paris, and London before appearing in New York.
She continues to prove that Vietnamese fashion can step out into the world not only with aesthetic beauty, but also with cultural identity and sustainable values. Pham Ngoc Anh's presence at New York Fashion Week not only marks her own designs, but also affirms fashion Vietnam can be soft like a river, but also enduring, flowing forever and constantly regenerating.
