Touch the memory

The last bus of the day took me back to Xuan Huong - Da Lat, after more than 20 years away. Returning this time, I felt like I was touching the deep memories of the land and people here.

Not only me, many acquaintances also feel that Dalat now or in the past, no matter how hurried life is, how cramped the streets are, Dalat still has a "parallel world " between consciousness and reality.

According to Ms. Le Phuong in Nghe An province, who used to live and work in Xuan Huong - Da Lat, there is no place like this land: "That's why I keep missing this land. Nearly 30 years have passed, but the image of Da Lat still appears, lingering, illusory, hovering in every dream. Perhaps that's why Da Lat itself cannot be separated from this noun. So it is still Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat...".

People who have been away remember Da Lat with a throbbing, surging, unconcealed nostalgia; they just want to return to sit in the “second dimension” of the streets, with the trees and grass tilting to shade them.

People who live far away remember Da Lat with many different feelings, no two are the same. My friend Ho The Sinh in Gia Lai has lived for many years in a state of "split in two", but sometimes he gives more to Da Lat. Sinh expressed: "Da Lat has given me a lot of material to nourish my soul. Whenever life is disturbed, my mind turns to Da Lat to patch up and fill in the daily gaps and uncertainties."

As for me, returning to Da Lat is like touching a forgotten memory. Da Lat helps me realize the value of silence and infinite connection. It is also the place where I find peace, preserve my memories and help me return to myself between the past and the present.

Awaken the future

For me, Dalat is a land of good fortune, not only bringing beautiful memories but also opening up many opportunities to explore, connect and experience interesting life.

In the coming years, Lam Dong province will invest in and build a new central subdivision of Da Lat with an area of hundreds of hectares. This is an important step in the city's development strategy towards a green, modern urban area, in harmony with nature and the identity of the plateau.

According to Lam Dong construction industry, the development of suburban areas will be harmoniously connected with the planning of Da Lat urban center and surrounding areas, thereby enhancing access and connection with the green tree and forest system in the area, demonstrating the nature of a civilized urban area, promoting the unique identities of Da Lat urban area.

In the coming years, Da Lat will be restructured to form a “Heritage Axis”, focusing on high-end service and tourism functions and being the political and administrative center of the province. Da Lat will pay more attention to researching and preserving valuable French and European architectural works.

Lam Dong’s cultural sector also aims to develop sustainable tourism, preserve cultural identity and natural resources. The province will exploit cultural values, build green tourism cities and control urban development to preserve green spaces.

Solutions such as GIS application in heritage management and raising public awareness of conservation are necessary. Thereby, helping industries, services and people's lives of Da Lat move towards a more prosperous future.
