Pursuant to Decision No. 839/QD-TTg dated April 26, 2025 of the Prime Minister, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of Military Region 1, was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense . Previously, on April 24, 2025, in Decision No. 824/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister appointed Major General Truong Manh Dung, Commander of Army Corps 12, to the position of Commander of Military Region 1.
