Unifying the preparations for organizing the Buddha's Birthday celebration.
This afternoon (May 7th), Mr. Nguyen Van Den, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, chaired a meeting with the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Ca Mau province, in coordination with the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and other relevant departments, to discuss the plan for organizing the Buddha's Birthday celebration in the Buddhist year 2569 - Gregorian year 2025.

Venerable Thich Nhuan Tri, Deputy Secretary and Chief of Office of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Ca Mau province, presented the program and activities to celebrate the Buddha's Birthday.
According to the plan, the Buddha's Birthday Celebration (Buddhist calendar 2569 - Gregorian calendar 2025) in Ca Mau will take place from May 10-12, 2025. It will be organized on a grand scale, with solemnity and reverence, featuring many activities to honor the birth of Shakyamuni Buddha, such as: displaying the national flag and the Buddhist flag; creating miniature Lumbini gardens; a camp for Buddhist family groups to exchange ideas, participate in games, and compete in cooking vegetarian meals for offerings; and the opening of a vegetarian food fair… The official celebration will take place on May 11th with a procession of the Buddha from the main hall of the Sắc tứ Quan Âm Cổ Tự temple to the ceremonial platform of Monivongsa Bopharam Pagoda, Ward 1, Ca Mau City. The Buddha bathing ceremony will take place on May 12th at the main hall of the Phật Tổ pagoda.
Mr. Nguyen Van Den, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, requested that relevant agencies and units coordinate and provide support to ensure that the activities of the Buddha's Birthday Celebration are conducted meticulously, solemnly, and safely.
Accordingly, delegates discussed the development of scripts, stage design, and cultural performances to welcome the grand celebration. Particular attention was paid to food safety and hygiene at the vegetarian food fair; maintaining security and order during the two days of the official celebration; media outlets promoting exemplary Buddhist followers living virtuous lives; and the Party and State's policies on caring for and respecting religious freedom, all in preparation for the Buddha's Birthday celebration.
