Technical traffic opening of Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Construction Project

DNO - On August 19, in Hoa Khanh ward, the Ministry of Construction and the City People's Committee held a technical opening ceremony for the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Construction Project, part of the North - South Expressway in the East. This is a project of great significance to the transport infrastructure and socio-economic development of Da Nang, the Central region and the whole country.

Attending the opening ceremony were Deputy Director of the Department of Economics - Construction Investment Management, Ministry of Construction Phung Tien Vinh, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam, and leaders of ministries, branches and localities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam said that the project started construction in September 2023, has a length of 11.5km, and a total investment of more than VND 2,113 billion, from the state budget.

The project has resolved nearly 2,000 records, cleared more than 60.7 hectares of land, and relocated 3,275 graves. To date, the entire main route and service roads have been 100% completed.

According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam, when put into operation, the expressway will seamlessly connect the Ho Chi Minh Road section La Son - Hoa Lien, Hai Van Tunnel, National Highway 1, Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, National Highway 14B; reduce traffic pressure, ensure transportation safety, and at the same time create momentum for socio -economic development, national defense and security in the region.

Today's opening ceremony is an important milestone towards completing the entire project in 2025, contributing to the goal of completing the North-South expressway network.

Da Nang City commits to continue to closely coordinate, ensure progress, quality, safety and efficiency of the project, bringing practical benefits to the people and the country.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board (investor), the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan section of the North - South Eastern Expressway has basically completed the main expressway route, and two parallel service roads on both sides of the expressway are also being implemented to be completed in 2025.

The project passes through Lien Chieu, Hoa Khanh wards, Ba Na commune in Da Nang city, starting point at km66+000, adjacent to Hoa Lien intersection (coinciding with the end point of Ho Chi Minh road, La Son - Hoa Lien section), in Lien Chieu ward, ending point at km77+472 adjacent to Tuy Loan intersection (starting point of Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway project).

The project will start implementation from September 15, 2023, the expressway will be technically opened to traffic on August 19, 2025 and the entire project will be completed in 2025.

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway construction project is invested on the basis of expanding the Hai Van - Tuy Loan tunnel currently in operation with the scale of a level 80 expressway, design speed of 80km/h, the phased phase will have a scale of 4 complete lanes, roadbed width of 22m; building parallel service roads on both sides with the scale of level IV delta according to TCVN 4054:2005. The completed phase will invest according to the planning scale of 6 lanes, roadbed width of 29m.

When completed and put into operation, the project will be a link connecting La Son - Hoa Lien route and Hai Van tunnel, National Highway 1 with Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and National Highway 14B, ensuring smooth traffic, controlling traffic accidents, facilitating rescue work, meeting the needs of travel and transporting goods; completing the planning for the development of the transport network and the overall planning for socio-economic development of Da Nang city, contributing to completing the North - South expressway network in the east.
