The Inner Strength Scale (ISB) is a personal development tool for high school students, aiming to help learners systematically assess themselves, understand their own strengths, and contribute to guiding them in cultivating their inner strength in a targeted way.

A frame of reference for understanding oneself.

In a world constantly changing due to digital transformation and sustainable development, where there is no longer a "right formula," understanding oneself—where one stands and what one needs to improve—is the foundation for building inner strength and proactively moving forward. Identifying a path that suits one's abilities and characteristics becomes a challenging problem.

The Inner Strength Scale (ISB) is designed as a reference framework, allowing students to self-reflect and identify their own inner strengths. The tool focuses on helping learners clearly see their strengths, weaknesses, and how to respond to learning and life situations.

Participants in the assessment will complete a multiple-choice questionnaire designed based on specific situations and scenarios. The questions are designed to reflect how learners think, make decisions, and react in familiar learning and life contexts, thereby recording the level of performance of each competency group.

Upon completion, students will receive a detailed analysis of their internal strengths across various aspects. The results from the scale are presented visually, such as a spider web diagram, accompanied by explanations and corresponding development suggestions.

Through this, students have a stronger foundation to build their personal development path, instead of relying solely on academic results or career information.

According to UEH.ISB's Talent School, the scale was developed based on the practical needs of high school students during the career selection phase, where many students may achieve good academic results but still struggle to identify their strengths and choose a suitable career path. The tool is designed to provide students with an additional "map" for reference, thereby making them more proactive in making decisions for their future.

Five aspects of inner strength for your university journey.

The Internal Strength Scale (ISB) is designed based on five core dimensions, reflecting the fundamental competencies needed in today's learning and career context.

"Growth mindset and self-confidence" refers to believing in one's own ability to learn and improve. "Perseverance and passion for pursuit" demonstrates the ability to pursue long-term goals and maintain motivation throughout the learning process.

“Adaptability and Learning Ability” reflects the degree of flexibility in the face of change and the proactive approach to acquiring new knowledge. “Integration Readiness and Social Skills” relates to the ability to communicate, work in teams, and adapt to diverse learning environments.

The "Resilience and Optimism" aspect focuses on the ability to recover from pressure and maintain a positive mental state during the learning process.

Academically, the scale is constructed based on references to international research in the field of positive psychology and personal development, such as positive psychological capital, perseverance in pursuing goals, career adaptability, work readiness, and psychological resilience. These concepts are adapted to suit the context of high school students in Vietnam.

In addition to providing feedback on results, the tool also offers specific action suggestions for each competency group, such as setting clear goals, tracking personal progress, developing adaptability through new experiences, and maintaining the habit of self-reflecting on the learning process.

A representative from UEH.ISB added that the scale was designed to simplify academic concepts so that students can easily access and apply them in their daily studies. The accompanying suggestions are designed as specific actions, aiming to help learners move from recognition to practice, gradually forming a foundation for long-term development.
