Online stores earn hundreds of millions of dong by "catching the trend" of selling frangipani-shaped hair clips - a new fashion trend.

Fluctuating around 10,000 VND each, porcelain flower hair clips have become a new trending business item of the online retail community recently. The clip is made of acrylic plastic, the common size is equivalent to a real porcelain flower (6cm x 8cm), weighs 50 grams and comes in a variety of colors.

This trend is said to have originated from a design by the Emi Jay hair clip brand (USA). Many manufacturers copied it and it was widely promoted by users on social networks.

According to data from YouNet Media's social media listening platform SocialHeat, in the past two months, the frangipani flower clip attracted more than 123,700 discussions; 2.3 million interactions from more than 83,200 TikTok and Facebook users.

Over the past two months, the 10 most popular shops on TikTok Shop have sold 88,200 porcelain flower hair clips, earning nearly 1.2 billion VND, according to statistics from e-commerce data company YouNet ECI.

On Shopee, 10 shops earned 13.4 billion VND by selling 834,000 ceramic flower clips. Top shops can earn hundreds of millions from this item. For example, on TikTok Shop, the shop that sold the most was more than 40,000 pieces, earning more than 595 million VND after two months. The same shop on Shopee earned 380 million VND.

Silvered langur gives birth to yellow-haired baby at Saigon Zoo

Mr. Truc said that silvered langurs have a very interesting characteristic: although the parents have black and silver fur, the baby langurs will have yellow fur when born.

About 6 months after birth, the baby langur's fur gradually changes color to black. And about a year later, its fur will completely change to be like its parents'.

Mr. Truc also added that in the zoo there is a species of red-cheeked gibbon with equally interesting characteristics: the male gibbon has black fur, and the female gibbon has yellow fur.

"When the baby is born, its fur will be yellow. Then it will take time for it to gradually turn black. At about two years old, the female will gradually turn back to yellow. The male will keep its black fur," Mr. Truc provided.
