During his lifetime, the late musician Son Ha, a native of Hau Giang, once shared that before Hau Giang was separated from Can Tho province in 2004, Hau Giang contained songs that touched people's hearts, but not many. The task for musicians at that time was to compose songs about Hau Giang. At that time, it was considered a new land, there were only a few musicians coming here, and there were not many good songs. So he and his colleagues went to feel and nurture their emotions. His songs were born, in the first 10 years after the separation, from these emotions such as "Come back to Hau Giang, my dear", "Improvisation on the night of Xa No", "Love melody on the river"...
Musician Nguyen Vinh Phuc, currently Vice President of the Literature and Arts Association of Hau Giang province, shared: If before, he only wrote a few songs from the emotions of a forest ranger, then when he returned to Hau Giang to work after the separation, he began to research music on his own, traveling more to feel the vitality of the new land.
A series of his songs were born, contributing to the rich treasure of compositions about Hau Giang, helping him affirm his name on the path to becoming a professional musician. His songs were born from very real emotions, the love and attachment when working here. The trips helped him discover the beauty of this land, along with the full emotions, giving birth to sweet, profound songs that touched people's hearts. Among them, we must mention "Hau Giang mot dong song", "Ve lai Lung Ngoc Hoang", "Huyen thuy Xa No", "Huong sac Vi Thanh", "Vi Thanh thanh pho toi beau".
Along with musicians who have many songs about Hau Giang that have touched people's hearts, a generation of young musicians who have grown up from the movement in Hau Giang over the past 20 years, continue to nurture emotions, contribute to songs about Hau Giang, and paint a beautiful picture for this land, such as Nguy Hoang Thong with "Xa No, the nostalgia song", "Hau Giang, oh! The call of my heart", Ho Cong Quang with "Hau Giang, the proud song", Nguyen Trung Hau with "Lang lang chieu Xa No"...
The heroic land of Hau Giang through "red music" works
It was not until the province was split in 2004 that the name Hau Giang was mentioned frequently, entering poetry and music with passionate, profound emotions. Since the war, this land has inspired musicians to write songs that live on today and tomorrow.
The song "Tam Vu" by musician Dac Nhan was born nearly 80 years ago, depicting the glorious victory of Tam Vu with glorious feats. Born in 1947, until now, every time the struggle between our army and people against the French colonialists is reenacted, resounding victories are achieved. Today, in this land, it is still marked through stories, through the majestic lyrics that anyone who has the opportunity to return to this land cannot help but feel proud and moved when hearing the sentence "Hung thay Tam Vu vang danh oai Huynh Tuong Quan...". The song recounts glorious feats with a heroic melody, evoking memories of a time with resounding feats that have gone down in the history of the Vietnamese people.
Not only does the song Tam Vu touch people's hearts, the land of Hau Giang is also a source of inspiration for musician Tran Long An to write the song "Dan Sao Hau Giang", a beautiful feeling about a peaceful and prosperous countryside with green trees, sweet fruits, romantic and poetic scenery, good land where birds flock...
Hau Giang also evokes many emotions for musician Phan Huynh Dieu to write the song "Love of Mother Hau Giang", musician Tran Quang Huy with "Love of the Hau River", Truong Tuyet Mai with "Wings of Mother Hau Giang"... These are songs born during the trips of musicians to this beloved land, to experience, to feel the love of the land and the people. Then, when full of emotions, the melodies flowed, bringing to listeners sweet, soul-touching songs about the beloved land called Hau Giang.
