On November 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a decision to transfer and appoint Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam to hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam was appointed as VTV General Director.

Pursuant to Decision No. 1311/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, to hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television. The term of appointment is 5 years. The decision takes effect from November 1, 2024.

Previously, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, member of the Party Central Committee and General Director of Vietnam Television (VTV), was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
