The Prime Minister appoints the Deputy Minister of the Interior.

On May 30, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 467/QD-TTg on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Truong Hai Long, Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai province for the 2021-2026 term, to the position of Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs , with a term of appointment of 5 years.

Mr. Truong Hai Long, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior

Prior to his transfer to a local position, Mr. Truong Hai Long served as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior from June 24, 2021; he had a long career at the Ministry of Interior and previously held positions as Deputy Director and Director of the Department of Civil Servants and Public Employees.

Mr. Truong Hai Long was born in 1976 in Yen Trung commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province. His professional qualifications include a Master's degree in Law, advanced political theory, and he is a senior specialist in state management.

In September 2022, Mr. Truong Hai Long was appointed by the Party Central Committee to the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, and was nominated for election by the Provincial People's Council to the position of Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

On September 19, 2022, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council held its 7th session of the 12th term and elected Mr. Truong Hai Long as Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
