Here, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed the best regards and congratulations on the occasion of Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to priests, monks and Catholics nationwide in general and Bac Giang province in particular.
The Prime Minister said that our country is developing based on the following foundations: Socialist democracy, socialist rule of law state, socialist market economy. Throughout that process, the people are the center, the subject, the goal and the driving force of development; there is no trade-off or sacrifice of progress and social justice to pursue mere economic growth.

Our Party and State always respect and ensure human rights, including freedom of belief, religion and non-belief, of all people; care for and create conditions for religious organizations and religious people to operate in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and laws...
In recent times, our country's socio-economic situation has achieved many positive results in many aspects: Economic growth; inflation is under control; major balances are ensured; public debt, government debt, foreign debt, budget deficit are under control; national defense, political security, social order and safety are maintained; foreign affairs are strengthened. The country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today.
The Prime Minister said that in the overall foreign relations, the Vietnam-Vatican relationship has continued to develop positively and well in recent years and is being further promoted. This is an important foundation and motivation for Catholics to well implement the motto "respect God and love the country".

Last July, at the invitation of Pope Francis, President Vo Van Thuong visited the Vatican. In September, Pope Francis sent a letter to the Vietnamese Catholic community on the occasion of approving the Regulations on the activities of the Permanent Representative and the Office of the Permanent Representative of the Holy See in Vietnam.
According to the Prime Minister, the achievements have been made thanks to the leadership and direction of the Party, directly by the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; the participation of the entire political system; the support of the community, businesses, international friends and especially the people, including compatriots of all religions, including Catholics.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the priests, monks, nuns and Catholics of Bac Giang who have continued to implement the motto "living the gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of the people", "living a good life, having a good religion", together with the Party Committee, government, political system and people of Bac Giang province and the whole country in recovering and developing the socio-economy; maintaining security, order and social safety; mutual love and affection to build an increasingly prosperous and happy life; contributing to building the homeland of Bac Giang and the country in general.
