Prime Minister praises achievements in destroying major drug rings

(Chinhphu.vn) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just sent a letter of commendation to the functional forces for organizing the fight against and destroying drug trafficking and illegal transportation lines from foreign countries into Vietnam in large quantities.

In the letter of commendation sent to the Border Guard Command; Border Guard Commands of Quang Tri and Ha Tinh provinces; Border Guard Command of Da Nang city; Central Region Drug and Crime Prevention and Control Task Force under the Drug and Crime Prevention and Control Department, Border Guard Command, the Prime Minister wrote:

I am pleased to know that in August, the Border Guard Command directed the Border Guard Commands of the provinces: Quang Tri, Ha Tinh , Da Nang city and the Central Region Drug and Crime Prevention and Control Task Force under the Drug and Crime Prevention and Control Department, Border Guard Command to successfully organize the fight against Project QB525 and HT825 to destroy drug trafficking and illegal transportation lines from foreign countries into Vietnam with large quantities, arresting 03 subjects, seizing 535.5 kg of various drugs and many related exhibits and documents, ensuring absolute safety.

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister warmly commended and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the comrades. The achievements of the comrades have demonstrated the spirit of courage, high determination, intelligence and cleverness in the fight against drug crimes, contributing to protecting the peaceful and happy life of the people, embellishing the glorious tradition of the Border Guard, of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of National Defense to promptly commend and propose worthy commendations for collectives and individuals directly involved in solving cases, widely propagate, learn from and follow the spirit of fighting and preventing crime of the Border Guard units in the past, and at the same time, continue to direct the Border Guard force to preside over and closely coordinate with functional forces to step up the fight against all types of crimes, especially transnational drug crimes, to prevent drugs from entering Vietnam, contributing to protecting the safety and happiness of the people.
