VOV.VN - On the morning of October 10, on the occasion of attending the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits in Vientiane, Laos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet had a special breakfast exchange with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC).
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia have a long-standing cultural and historical tradition, closely connected in terms of geography, history, tradition of fighting for national liberation, protecting independence and sovereignty , and in socio-economic development today. The tradition of solidarity, attachment and mutual assistance between Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos is a valuable asset, the foundation for developing cooperative relations, mutual trust and a key factor in promoting solidarity and attachment among the three countries.

In recent times, many trilateral cooperation mechanisms between Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos have been formed and effectively promoted, contributing practically to consolidating and fostering cooperation between the three countries. In particular, economic-trade-investment cooperation has made strong progress, but is still not commensurate with the good political-diplomatic relations.

At the tripartite meeting on the occasion of this Summit, the Prime Ministers of the three countries agreed that economic-trade-investment cooperation needs strategic breakthroughs to match the stature of political relations and the potential and strengths of each country. Appreciating the theme of this year's Summit, "ASEAN: Promoting Connectivity and Resilience", the Prime Minister hoped that the business community of ASEAN countries would continue to cooperate, support and contribute to helping the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia raise their economic ties to the same level as their ties in geography, history and political- diplomatic relations. Specifically, promoting the connection of the three economies in five areas: Soft connection (building institutions, mechanisms and policies to promote the different potentials, outstanding opportunities and competitive advantages of the three countries and each country); hard connection, especially transport connection including aviation, road, railway, inland waterway and sea; trade connection (promoting complementary advantages, forming production and supply chains linked to global and regional supply chains); connecting digital infrastructure, energy infrastructure; connecting businesses. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the Vietnamese Government is committed to working with the Lao and Cambodian Governments to create the most favorable conditions for businesses to cooperate, invest and do business in the spirit of "listening and understanding together; sharing vision and action together; working together, enjoying together, winning together and developing together; sharing joy, happiness and pride" with the three countries and three peoples.
