Promote e-commerce development

In Dong Nai, the e-commerce market is increasingly expanding. Consumers in the province are increasingly interested in applying digital technology to shop online.

The Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade and localities in the province have focused on many solutions to bring local specialties and OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program) to e-commerce platforms; as well as implementing many training programs to support local businesses and cooperatives to promote OCOP products on online platforms.

Support businesses and cooperatives

In April 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 127/KH-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on developing e-commerce in Dong Nai province in 2025.

The plan sets out three specific goals. Among them, striving to continue to maintain the province's trade ranking index in the top 10 leading provinces and cities nationwide. The province will support producers and traders of OCOP products in the province to participate in training and conduct livestream sales...

The content of the plan focuses on four key issues: building mechanisms and policies to support e-commerce development; building and developing infrastructure and services to support e-commerce development; training and developing human resources for e-commerce. At the same time, promoting, disseminating and improving knowledge about e-commerce; fighting against commercial fraud, infringement of intellectual property rights and unfair competition in e-commerce...

Ms. Thuy Linh in Tam Hiep ward expressed: “Currently, e-commerce activities in the locality are quite developed with many consumer connections. I hope that relevant departments and branches continue to promote the effectiveness of e-commerce activities and online business channels. At the same time, I also hope that the locality will strengthen the inspection and handling of violations of counterfeit and poor quality goods on e-commerce platforms and online businesses to bring consumers a safe and sustainable shopping environment”.

According to the Dong Nai Trade Promotion Program 2025 issued by the Provincial People's Committee, the program focuses on OCOP products, industrial products, and key agricultural products of the province. In particular, in terms of program content, in addition to promoting trade promotion channels and traditional trade connections, the province will also strengthen the application of information technology and promote digital transformation in trade promotion activities in the period of 2021-2030...

Representative of Yes Win-Win Coffee and Cocoa Production Facility (Tan Phu Commune), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung shared that the facility regularly improves and learns from experience to implement livestream sales on the TikTok Shop platform. Thereby, helping the products reach further and get closer to consumers across the country.

Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Tran Duong Hung said: “Recently, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented many programs and conferences to train effective online business on e-commerce channels to support businesses, business households and individuals starting up in the province to grasp the market and current consumer needs; how to optimize booths, build brands and increase customer experience; as well as training on building effective livestream scenarios…”.

Strengthen training activities

Through the implementation of business on digital platforms, many businesses and OCOP entities have contributed to reducing operating costs, optimizing orders, and increasing revenue. At the same time, building increasingly professional production, business, and marketing processes, applying digital platforms...

Deputy Director of Nga Bien Import Export Company Limited (Xuan Hoa Commune) Hieu Le said: The company's products have just been recognized as 5-star OCOP. This creates many motivations for the company to develop its brand story, promote production and business activities. In particular, developing e-commerce, promoting and introducing products on digital platforms...

Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam E-commerce Association (Vecom) Nguyen Minh Duc said: “In the context of technology development, especially the increasingly popular multi-channel sales, localities should increase training activities on e-commerce, livestream sales of local specialties and OCOP products according to relevant topics and focus on training and supporting e-commerce personnel of enterprises to implement and practice solutions to improve sales efficiency and promotion through e-commerce channels”.

According to Mr. Duc, businesses, especially local businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises, need to continuously monitor and update to help make e-commerce digital transformation more effective. The key points that businesses need to pay attention to now are artificial intelligence (AI), livestreaming and advertising.
