The Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade, and local authorities in the province are focusing on various solutions to bring local specialty products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products onto e-commerce platforms; as well as implementing many training programs and supporting businesses and cooperatives in the locality to promote OCOP products on online platforms.

Supporting businesses and cooperatives

In April 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 127/KH-UBND on the development of e-commerce in Dong Nai province in 2025.

The plan sets out three specific goals. These include striving to maintain the province's trade ranking among the top 10 provinces and cities nationwide. The province will support producers and businesses of OCOP products in the province by providing training and enabling them to conduct livestream sales…

The plan focuses on four key areas: developing mechanisms and policies to support e-commerce development; building and developing infrastructure and services to support e-commerce development; training and developing human resources for e-commerce; and promoting and raising awareness about e-commerce. It also aims to combat commercial fraud, intellectual property infringement, and unfair competition in e-commerce.

Ms. Thuy Linh from Tam Hiep ward expressed: “Currently, e-commerce activities in the locality are quite developed with many connections to consumers. I hope that relevant departments and agencies will continue to promote the effectiveness of e-commerce activities and online business channels. At the same time, I also hope that the locality will strengthen inspection and handling of violations related to counterfeit and substandard goods on e-commerce platforms and online businesses to provide consumers with a safe and sustainable shopping environment.”

According to the Dong Nai Trade Promotion Program 2025 issued by the Provincial People's Committee, the program focuses on OCOP products, key industrial products, and key agricultural products of the province. In terms of program content, in addition to promoting traditional trade promotion channels and business connections, the province will also strengthen the application of information technology and promote digital transformation in trade promotion activities during the 2021-2030 period…

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, representative of Yes Win-Win Coffee and Cocoa Production Facility (Tan Phu commune), shared that the facility regularly hones its skills and learns from experience to implement livestream sales on the TikTok Shop platform. This helps their products reach a wider audience and get closer to consumers nationwide.

According to Tran Duong Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade: “In the past period, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented many programs and training conferences on effective online business on e-commerce channels to support businesses, business households, and individuals starting up in the province to understand the current market and consumer needs; how to optimize online stores, build brands, and enhance customer experience; as well as training on building effective livestream scripts…”.

Strengthen training and education activities.

By deploying business on digital platforms, many businesses and OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities have been able to reduce operating costs, optimize orders, and increase revenue. At the same time, they have built increasingly professional production, business, and marketing processes, applying digital platforms…

According to Hieu Le, Deputy Director of Nga Bien Import-Export Co., Ltd. (Xuan Hoa commune): The company's products have just been recognized as 5-star OCOP products. This creates a lot of motivation for the company to develop its brand story and boost production and business activities. This includes developing e-commerce, promoting and introducing products on digital platforms…

According to Nguyen Minh Duc, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam E-commerce Association (Vecom): “In the context of technological development, especially the increasing popularity of multi-channel sales, localities should strengthen training programs on e-commerce, livestreaming sales of local specialties and OCOP products, focusing on interconnected themes and providing in-depth training and support for e-commerce personnel in businesses to implement and practice solutions to improve sales and promotion efficiency through e-commerce channels.”

According to Mr. Duc, businesses, especially local businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), need to continuously monitor and update their strategies to make the digital transformation of e-commerce more effective. Key areas that businesses need to focus on now are artificial intelligence (AI), livestreaming, and advertising.
