Standing Secretariat: Innovation is the inevitable path to national development

On the afternoon of August 15, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized a forum on Promoting the creative potential of workers, within the framework of the "Creative Labor Festival 2025".

Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized that in the period of renovation, the working class continues to affirm its pioneering role in the cause of industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration, directly mastering technology, operating modern production lines, contributing to improving labor productivity and competitiveness of the economy .

According to the Standing Secretariat, Vietnamese workers are internationally respected and recognized as hard-working, studious, intelligent and ambitious people. These are noble qualities, the crystallization of the cultural tradition, the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the desire for independence and self-reliance of our entire nation over thousands of years of building and defending the country.

"Innovation is no longer a choice, but an inevitable path to help our country develop quickly, sustainably and with identity," the Standing Member of the Secretariat expressed.

At the forum, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that "Creative Labor Festival 2025" aims to honor the spirit of innovation, creativity and dedication of tens of millions of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide.

According to the President of the General Confederation, over 96 years of establishment and development, the trade union organization has continuously grown, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The movements "Good workers - Creative workers" have become regular, continuous and persistent activities of each union member and worker at the grassroots level.

"After 80 years of independence, the country has entered a new era after nearly 40 years of renovation. Let us work together, be determined, overcome all difficulties, innovate, and confidently join the whole nation in this journey," said Mr. Khang.

In the forum, Ms. Bach Le Ngoc Chau - a worker at Saigon Stec Co., Ltd., VSIP II Industrial Park (HCMC) - expressed that no matter what position she holds, she always wonders how to optimize time savings and increase the rate of qualified products. From there, she researches new materials suitable for the product and proposes them directly to the manager. However, the research and improvement process encounters many difficulties and failures.

So far, through 5 initiatives, she and her colleagues have benefited the company by about 350 billion VND. As a migrant worker, she hopes that employers, trade unions, and localities will pay more attention to the regime, housing, and schooling for their children, so that workers can feel secure in their work and production.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ly - a worker at Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hanoi Labor Federation) - shared an initiative on AI camera software to detect defective products.

Ms. Ly expressed that the idea originated from a daily moment - when she was cooking, she saw her phone using facial recognition to unlock and thought about why the technology could not be applied to product defect recognition at the company.

However, she encountered many difficulties such as lack of AI foundation, needing a lot of time to research English documents, not having available testing equipment but having to utilize existing machinery, software not fully compatible with the production line, progress pressure...

After months of testing, the first AI camera prototype was born with high accuracy, fast speed, saving manpower, and improving output quality. Through success, she understood that hardship is a "furnace" for the will, with enough determination, all barriers can be transformed into stepping stones to success.
