Tia oi ma dia is one of the best-selling works, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of many generations of IDECAF audiences. The play revolves around Mr. Tu, a man who has been waiting for his wife who disappeared after a ferry accident for 10 years. His steadfast love, his daughter's sacrifice and the warm neighborhood love in the Western island have woven a touching story about love between husband and wife, family love and neighborly love.

Returning to the stage this time, director Tuyet Mai has given the play a new look, toning down the melodrama and replacing it with a more modern and cheerful storytelling style. The tragedy is still there, the pain of separation is still poignant, but not too tragic. The audience still sobs at the characters' feelings, but their emotions are supported by cute, humorous situations, and then they realize the simple yet sacred value of human love.

Taking on the lead role of Mr. Tu, Quoc Thinh portrayed a man who was deeply in love and loyal but not tinged with bitterness or resentment. Quoc Thinh was successful in balancing the character's contrasting emotions. He could make the audience silent with the anxious wait, and then immediately after that, he would utter a witty line that made the whole audience laugh without breaking the emotional flow.

The success of the play also comes from the ingenuity of director Tuyet Mai in using music . A series of songs with Southern folk melodies are appropriately inserted, both depicting the characters' moods and adding color and charm to the play's atmosphere. The harmonious juggling between experienced actors such as Hoang Trinh, Dai Nghia, Hong Anh, Phi Nga, Ngoc Nguyen, Dong Hai, Cong Danh, Thai Hien, Quoc Tuan creates a harmonious whole, smoothly transitioning between tragedy and comedy, bringing the audience a gentle yet profound work.
