DTO - In 2024, the Women's Union of Tan Hong district implemented programs and projects from the Central, provincial, and district levels to promote the role of its members and women in contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas, and to support and assist members and women in difficult circumstances to improve their income and living standards.


The Women's Union of An Phuoc commune (Tan Hong district) launched an environmental sanitation campaign, collecting and disposing of waste along the "3 clean" road.

The Tan Hong District Women's Union, in coordination with the Provincial Women's Union, organized a thematic discussion on the "Building a Family with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards" campaign and the thematic discussion on "Improving the knowledge of female cadres and members participating in building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas in waste sorting and treatment associated with environmental protection," with 130 female cadres and members participating. In addition, in coordination with the Provincial Women's Union, they organized the distribution of 100 gifts to female members from poor and near-poor households in the district.

Women's Union branches at all levels in the district implemented the "Saturday for the Community" movement, launched the "Green - Clean - Beautiful" flower road campaign, and mobilized people to maintain a good environmental landscape... As a result, 100% of the branches continued to effectively maintain 34 "Three Clean Road Sections," with a total length of 48.8km; 100% of the branches registered and implemented one project or task contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Through the implementation, 9 out of 9 branches registered 10 projects or tasks with specific actions in their localities. Among them, the Women's Union branches of Tan Thanh B, Binh Phu, Tan Cong Chi communes and Sa Rai town implemented models such as "Solid waste sorting at source," "Rural street lighting project," "Clean houses, clean roads, clean fields," and "Supporting health insurance cards for near-poor students"...

The Women's Union of the district signed a cooperation program with the District Labor Union, the District Youth Union, and the District Farmers' Association to organize activities for female officials, civil servants, and workers; coordinate efforts to promote the sending of workers abroad under contract; and organize campaigns to collect, transport, and process used pesticide packaging in the district.

Simultaneously, in coordination with the District Agricultural Service Center, a training course on "Scientific Eel Farming" was organized for 30 female members. The District Women's Union, in collaboration with relevant departments and the People's Committee of Tan Thanh B commune, launched a "Flower Road Project," introduced a "Women's Group for Waste Sorting at Source" with 20 members, donated 20 trash cans to 20 female members and residents, and planted over 1,800 trees along the roads to beautify the rural landscape.

Implementing the "Godmother" Program, the Women's Union at all levels continued to survey the actual circumstances of orphaned children. Following the survey, through the connection between the Women's Union at all levels in the district and organizations and individuals, 11 orphaned children due to Covid-19 and 24 orphaned children due to other causes have been sponsored. Each month, the orphaned children receive support including: cash, scholarships, essential goods, school supplies, clothing, etc., totaling over 102 million VND.

Upholding the spirit of "mutual support and compassion," and demonstrating care and sharing with members, women in difficult circumstances, the elderly, the lonely, and the disabled, the Women's Union at all levels in the district mobilized benefactors and philanthropists to donate 1,419 gift packages (rice, noodles, soy sauce, milk, cash, and essential daily necessities) with a total cost of over 471 million VND; and donated 25 health insurance cards to students from near-poor households. Notably, in 2024, the Central Delegation of the Vietnam Women's Union visited and presented many gifts to families with revolutionary merit, the poor, the near-poor, those in difficult circumstances, and children, totaling over 46 million VND.

Through a coordinated program between the Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Bac Lieu Provincial Women's Union, and the Binh Duong Provincial Women's Union, over 110 gifts were presented to poor and near-poor households and underprivileged but studious students in border communes of Tan Hong district; support was provided for livelihood models, tree planting projects were donated, and solar-powered lighting systems were installed under the "Lighting Up the Border" program. The total value of these activities exceeded 230 million VND. In addition, the Women's Unions of communes and towns implemented a program to support disadvantaged students in Binh Phu, Thong Binh, and Tan Ho Co communes with 116 gifts worth 33.3 million VND. The Tan Ho Co Commune Women's Union received support from the Sa Dec City Women's Union in providing 50 gifts to disadvantaged women members, totaling 12.5 million VND...

In 2025, the Tan Hong District Women's Union will continue to guide its branches in implementing key programs and projects associated with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; strengthen efforts to mobilize resources to care for and support the poor, near-poor, and those with difficult circumstances, helping poor women members improve their income and stabilize their lives.
