Speaking at the reception, General Secretary To Lam stated that this visit by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping took place in a very special context, when the people of the two countries were joyfully celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, which is also the Year of Humanitarian Exchange between the two countries.
Comrade Xi Jinping is the highest-ranking Chinese leader to visit Vietnam the most in history, and this is his first foreign visit in 2025, demonstrating the importance and top priority of the Party, State, and Comrade Xi Jinping personally for Vietnam and the Vietnam-China relationship.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized that 75 years ago, the important event of Vietnam and China officially establishing diplomatic relations opened a new era for the friendly relations between the two socialist neighboring countries. During the heroic revolutionary years, the two Parties, two countries and two peoples always gave each other great, effective, righteous and sincere help and support, forming "the close Vietnam-China relationship, both comrades and brothers".
Following the era of President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, with the hard work of generations of leaders of the two Parties and two countries, we have opened a new era of development of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance.

General Secretary To Lam said that in an atmosphere of trust and sincerity, the two sides had successfully held talks and reached many important and comprehensive common perceptions on major directions and measures to promote the relationship between the two Parties and two countries to develop more substantially, to a new height in a new era of prosperity, development and well-being for both nations.
This good result, together with the common perceptions at the working sessions between General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and President Liang Qiang, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, added new momentum, increasingly developing, actively contributing to the development of each country, meeting the expectations of the people of the two countries.
In a warm atmosphere filled with friendship, General Secretary To Lam wished the State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping a great success; wished the People's Republic of China and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to develop more and more prosperously, and the people to be happier.

In response, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping expressed his gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception of the Party, Government and people of Vietnam; highly appreciated Vietnam's development achievements, maintained social and political stability, rapid economic development, increasingly improved people's lives, and active and dynamic diplomatic work. Vietnam is increasingly promoting its important role in the international arena.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the Vietnamese people will certainly successfully achieve the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress and firmly enter a new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping emphasized that the Vietnam-China relationship is both traditional and brotherly, and this friendship will continue to be further developed. In recent years, the two sides have maintained strategic exchanges, jointly orienting the development of China-Vietnam relations in the new era and opening a stage for the community to share the strategic future of China-Vietnam.
