Tien Giang: Promoting the strength of the entire people in building new rural areas

To achieve this impressive result, Tien Giang has implemented breakthrough solutions. One of those breakthroughs is that the province has done a good job of propaganda and mobilization, to truly encourage the whole population to unite, join hands, and actively participate in building the new rural area.

Through many creative ways, choosing specific contents, suitable to the situation of each locality associated with the interests of the people, in recent years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang province has promoted the strength of the great solidarity bloc of the people to participate in implementing campaigns and movements. Thereby, the role of the people as the main subject has been promoted, contributing to the effective implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in the locality.

Many projects and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels contribute to building new rural areas in Tien Giang province.

STRENGTHEN PROPAGANDA

Through campaigns and movements, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of Tien Giang province have coordinated with member organizations to organize 953,793 extensive propaganda sessions to cadres, union members, association members and people on the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on the National Target Program on New Rural Construction with 25,637,757 participants; compiled and published 22,880 documents; organized 172 direct propaganda sessions in communes in the plan to strive to achieve the standards of New Rural Construction, Advanced New Rural Construction, and Model New Rural Construction every year with 22,880 participants.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Giang Province Huynh Van Hai said: In recent years, the Front at all levels has proactively coordinated with member organizations to propagate and mobilize people from all walks of life to overcome difficulties, unite, and join hands with local Party committees and authorities to implement the criteria of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas. The forms of propaganda have been implemented in a variety of ways, such as: People's meetings in residential areas, through mass media, Zalo groups, etc. Thanks to the good implementation of propaganda and mobilization work, people have been truly encouraged to join hands and contribute to building new rural areas. Throughout the journey of building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas, the participation of rural people has always been mobilized.

The Fatherland Front system, especially the Fatherland Front at the grassroots level, has become a bridge to convey the tasks, goals, and solutions for building new rural areas to all classes of people, helping people understand their role as the subject in this work. Through the implementation of the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", followed by "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the Fatherland Front at all levels has mobilized 34,239 households to participate in linking large fields with an area of 31,589.7 hectares, helping farmers to easily grasp and apply science and technology, increase productivity and product quality, limit risks, and contribute to increasing farmers' income.

Cho Gao district is one of two districts in Tien Giang province that meets the standards of advanced NTM district.

The Front at all levels also coordinated with member organizations in association with functional units to open 276 short-term vocational training classes with 10,387 participants and provide consultation and job introduction for 155,064 rural workers; organized for 9,932 households to visit, study and exchange experiences in animal husbandry and cultivation, 1,069 training classes on science and technology transfer with 29,847 participants; contributed 109,446 working days, 2,268,265 seedlings and animals; established 3,589 revolving capital contribution groups, bank loan groups with 157,119 households participating with a total amount of VND 1,815 billion to develop family economy .

Every year, the provincial Fatherland Front takes the lead in developing a monitoring plan, focusing on monitoring issues that people reflect and are of pressing public opinion; organizing social criticism conferences; dialogues between leaders of Party committees, authorities, and Fatherland Fronts at all levels in the province with religious organizations and the people.

The Fatherland Front at all levels coordinated to build and replicate 158 models of crime prevention and control; installed 997 crime reporting mailboxes; participated in the successful mediation of 8,780/10,196 disputes and conflicts in residential areas, contributing to significantly reducing the number of complaints at higher levels, strengthening the neighborhood relationship and limiting conflicts in the community, contributing to maintaining social order and safety. Built 205 models to ensure traffic order and safety. Organized to collect opinions to assess people's satisfaction with the results of building new rural areas, ensuring the satisfaction rate of people.

WORKS OF "PARTY'S WILL, PEOPLE'S HEART"

The results of building a new rural province in Tien Giang come from the determination of the Party Committee, government, and people, most notably the movement of donating land for road construction and civil works. Specifically, people donated over 3 million ^square meters of land, worth over VND 920.617 billion, to build 874 rural roads with a length of 837.493 km; contributed to the construction and repair of 422 rural bridges, worth VND 94.195 billion; participated in dredging 649 canals, worth VND 62.718 billion in labor days; mobilized the construction of 4 deep-level water plants and 12 pipelines to supply domestic water to people in remote communes and coastal border areas.

Mobilizing the "For the Poor" Fund of over VND 257 billion and social security programs worth nearly VND 902 billion, supporting the construction of 10,238 "Great Unity" houses for poor households, 6,246 houses according to Decision 167/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, 956 gratitude houses, 20 "Dream Houses", 231 "Border Warm Homes" for poor households in coastal border communes and policy families of the province; helping 52,791 poor students; implementing 202 production support projects for 3,752 poor households; organizing and mobilizing 1.868 million Tet gifts for the poor, worth over VND 560 billion to help poor and near-poor households enjoy spring and celebrate Tet every year.

Many models contribute to environmental protection.

In order to contribute to limiting environmental pollution and raising awareness of environmental protection in the community, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has coordinated with member organizations and religious organizations to build models of environmental protection and waste treatment in residential areas. Road sections 4, 5, 6 (Hamlet 3A, Dao Thanh Advanced Rural Area Commune, My Tho City) left an impression on many people with the beauty of rows of marigolds planted in straight rows and neatly trimmed; the landscape here is also cared for with green hedges and ornamental plants planted by the people.

Mr. Le Thanh Nam, a resident of Cho Gao district, shared: "In the past few days, when I heard that my hometown Tien Giang had met the new rural area standards and was about to announce the recognition decision, I was extremely happy and proud. To achieve this important result, it is the efforts of the Party Committee, the government and the contribution of each citizen of the province.
