Received more than 500 units of blood at the Voluntary Blood Donation Festival

More than 500 units of blood were received at the Voluntary Blood Donation Festival organized by the Red Cross Associations of Nghia Lo, Truong Quang Trong, An Phu, Tinh Khe and Cam Thanh communes and wards on the morning of August 2.

The festival attracted more than 600 cadres, members, youth union members and people to participate. The total amount of blood received was more than 500 units. This was an emergency blood donation campaign to ensure a reserve of blood for emergency and treatment purposes. It ensured that the voluntary blood donation campaign would not be interrupted after the reorganization of the administrative apparatus and units. Up to now, Quang Ngai province has received nearly 14,000 units of blood.

The demand for blood for emergency and treatment at medical facilities in the province remains high, especially in the summer when there is often a local shortage. The collected blood will be distributed to hospitals to meet the need for blood transfusion in treatment, especially in emergency cases, accidents, obstetrics and patients with chronic diseases.
