Receiving and explaining opinions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the draft Press Law (amended)

Accordingly, the Government resolved to approve the contents: Report on receiving and explaining opinions of the National Assembly Standing Committee, preliminary examination of the Committee on Culture and Social Affairs on the Draft Press Law (amended); Draft Submission to the National Assembly; and Draft Press Law (amended) at the request of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Report No. 439/BC-BVHTTDL dated October 16, 2025.

Completing the draft Press Law (amended): Building a more modern, humane and autonomous press in the digital transformation period

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to fully absorb the opinions of Government members to complete the Report, Submission and Draft Law according to regulations.

Pursuant to the Government's Resolution No. 278/NQ-CP dated September 13, 2025, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, authorized by the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government, signed the Report on receiving, explaining and revising the Draft Law on Press (amended) according to the opinions of the National Assembly Standing Committee to send to the National Assembly for consideration and comments for approval at the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is fully responsible for the content of the Draft Law and the issues proposed and reported; fully prepares documents and files to send to the National Assembly and its agencies, ensuring quality and deadlines as prescribed; proactively reports and explains to the National Assembly and its agencies to ensure strictness and compliance with regulations; promptly reports to the Prime Minister on issues arising beyond its authority.

The Resolution takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation.
