Female student Trinh Thu Huong: Reaching for the dream of becoming a car 'doctor'

From the love for her father - the driver who is attached to the steering wheel, Trinh Thu Huong, a female student majoring in Automobile, chose the career of a car "doctor".

At the School of Mechanical Engineering - Automobile, Hanoi University of Industry, amidst the noisy sounds of machines and the characteristic smell of grease, Trinh Thu Huong, a 4th year student majoring in Automotive Engineering Technology, one of the rare "roses" in the industry, is gradually realizing her beloved father's dream of becoming a private car "doctor".

At the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI), where the sound of machinery and the smell of grease seem to be the "specialties" of men, suddenly there are some beautiful women appearing.

The name Trinh Thu Huong, a 4th year student majoring in Automotive Engineering Technology, has become a symbol of passion and determination.

Huong is one of the few female students who dares to enter the demanding field of engineering, where her dream is not only to conquer technology, but also a meaningful personal story.

Thu Huong's initial choice surprised many people: Automotive Technology is a field that requires health, meticulousness and a lot of manual work, making many people think that this is a "territory" exclusively for men. However, with a love for vehicles and technology since childhood, Huong was determined to pursue her choice at HaUI - one of the most prestigious technical training cradles in the country.

Becoming a fourth-year student has proven this young girl's perseverance and ability, overcoming all doubts to stand firm and shine in a challenging learning environment.

Coming to the Manh Vuong auto repair shop (Hanoi) where Huong is interning, we can see that this small girl is not inferior to the men at all.

Trinh Thu Huong's passion for engineering did not come by chance, but was nurtured by her father's trips and hardships. Huong shared: "My father is a driver and I have witnessed him endure hardships when his car had problems on the road. Since I was little, I have always dreamed of repairing and taking care of my father's car myself, so that he can feel secure and have less trouble."

Becoming a 4th year student is not only the result of learning in the classroom, but also the experience accumulated in the practice workshops. Trinh Thu Huong participated in an internship at Manh Vuong auto workshop, where she was guided by Mr. Manh - who is also a lecturer in the class and the workshop owner. Sharing about this little student, Mr. Manh commented: "Although Huong has a small stature, she is very smart, meticulous and especially extremely eager to learn. In a technical environment that requires high precision, her meticulousness is a valuable quality. She is not afraid of grease or heavy work, always proactive in learning about all car problems."

Now, Huong's dream has become a practical action. The sweetest fruit and greatest pride for her is the ability to apply knowledge to take care of her family.

Huong added that every time she took the opportunity to visit home during her time studying in Hanoi, the first thing she did was spend time examining and "diagnosing" her father's car.

The little girl performed a thorough “diagnostic” procedure: carefully checking the brake system, tires and advising her father on the correct maintenance schedule. This action not only helped the car operate safely but was also a priceless spiritual gift, an affirmation of love expressed through the profession she chose.

With a solid foundation from school and practical training at the workshop, Trinh Thu Huong is aiming to graduate as an excellent female engineer. Her dream is not only to be a "doctor" for her father's car, but also to be an inspiration for many other young girls, proving that any dream, no matter how hard or prejudiced, can be successful if nurtured with love and determination.

Talking about the future, the little girl from Hai Phong happily shared an ambitious but also very humane plan. After graduating, Huong hopes to apply for a job at a large automobile corporation to gain experience and become familiar with professional processes. Further, she dreams of opening a small auto repair shop in her hometown, both to continue repairing cars for her father and to serve her neighbors.

This dream encapsulates Trinh Thu Huong’s love for her family, her career aspirations, and her sense of community service. She is a clear example for the young generation who dare to pursue their passion, master technology, and especially prove that women can also do very well the jobs that have long been considered men’s.
