Major General Dinh Hong Tieng, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, assessed: After the merger, Lam Dong province recruited a large number of soldiers. However, thanks to the efforts of the Provincial Military Service Council and the units and localities, all stages of recruitment were carried out strictly and in accordance with regulations. In particular, the military training camp and the troop handover ceremony were well-organized, solemn, and unified, carrying political significance and appropriate to the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality.
This is the first year that communes have taken the lead in directly implementing the military recruitment process, so they lack experience and are still somewhat disorganized. Therefore, there are many limitations in gathering information on the political situation, moral character, health, family circumstances, ideology, and management of citizens preparing for military service. The coordination and signing of the recruitment list is behind schedule in many localities. The verification of political standards and the conclusion of health standards are not yet fully ensured, resulting in the need for replacements in 3 cases (one case each in Tan Lap, Song Luy, and Hong Son communes); and 2 cases of young men violating the law before enlisting in the army (one case each in Di Linh commune and Phuoc Hoi ward)...
At this time, many communes/wards have basically completed the initial registration for military service for male citizens aged 17 to prepare for recruitment in 2027. Lieutenant Colonel Luu Hong Phong - Deputy Commander of the Military Command of Tan Hoi commune said: "Thanks to the intensified propaganda work on the Law on Military Service, raising awareness and responsibility of young people and their families towards the task of protecting the Fatherland, young people are all clearly aware of their duties and rights, and voluntarily participate in registration within the prescribed time."
Lieutenant Colonel Dang Cao Cuong, Commander of the Military Command of Dak Sak Commune, said: “The locality has reformed its dissemination, propaganda, and education work with many diverse and rich forms. In particular, we focus on effectively utilizing the role of mass media and cyberspace, combining the promotion of military recruitment with the activities of Party branches, villages, political and social organizations, and mass organizations. At the same time, we do a good job of implementing policies for the families of active-duty soldiers and social policies for families with soldiers to create motivation and encourage young people to enthusiastically volunteer for military service.”
Organizing military service registration for 17-year-olds is not only the first step in the recruitment process but also contributes to the strict management of citizens of eligible age for military service. It provides an initial database on the number, educational level, and health of each young person, thereby serving well in subsequent stages such as preliminary selection, medical examination, and recruitment. This is an important prerequisite for localities to continue to successfully carry out military recruitment in 2027.
To ensure the complete success of the 2027 military recruitment campaign, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan requested that units and localities learn from the experience of the 2026 recruitment campaign. The Provincial Military Service Council and local authorities need to promote the role and responsibility of departments, agencies, the Fatherland Front, and local organizations in implementing the recruitment process, ensuring adherence to principles, laws, and procedures. Absolutely no regrettable mistakes should occur, and serious action must be taken against those who violate the Military Service Law.
In 2026, Lam Dong province achieved 100% of its military recruitment target, with 4,607 citizens enlisting. Of these, the percentage of Party members enlisting reached 1.82% (exceeding the resolution's target by 0.4%). The percentage of young people enlisting with health category 1 reached 7.2%; category 2 reached 52.5%. The percentage of young people enlisting after graduating from high school reached 54.3%; those with a vocational school diploma or higher reached 9.9%...
