Continue to further improve the quality of activities of People's Councils at all levels

On the morning of August 1, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a meeting with the Standing Committees of the District and City People's Councils for the first 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of 2024, People's Councils at all levels in the province have closely followed the leadership and direction of Party Committees, functions, tasks, operating regulations, and effectively organized the implementation of the 2024 work program. People's Councils at all levels have held 251 meetings, issued 1,115 resolutions, creating an important legal basis for all levels and sectors to effectively direct the implementation of assigned tasks.

Provincial and district People's Councils have organized meetings with voters at nearly 1,600 locations, promptly synthesizing over 2,700 voters' petitions to forward to People's Committees at all levels for direction and resolution. Activities of supervising, reviewing the settlement and response to voters' petitions, and handling citizens' petitions and letters of reflection have been carried out seriously and in accordance with regulations.

Delegates discussed and exchanged experiences on questioning and explaining activities at People's Council meetings; solutions to improve the quality of survey and supervision work using images; some difficulties and obstacles in examining reports and draft resolutions; experiences and solutions to improve the quality of supervision of the implementation of mechanisms and policies on socio -economic development in the locality...

Concluding the conference, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Thi Minh Xuan emphasized: With the motto "Accompanying, sharing, responsibility", the Provincial People's Council has worked with the government and the Fatherland Front to resolve many difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings in implementing the socio-economic development tasks of the province; resolved many petitions of the People; affirmed its role as a State power agency, representing the will and aspirations of voters and people in the locality.

He suggested that the Standing Committees of People's Councils at all levels continue to study and grasp the provisions of the law; the direction of the Party Committee; constantly learn and share experiences to improve the quality and efficiency of the People's Council's operations. At the same time, continue to innovate and improve the quality and efficiency of organizing meetings.

The Standing Committees of People's Councils at all levels need to proactively urge and coordinate with the People's Committees, the Fatherland Front Committees at the same level and relevant agencies to prepare the content and documents of the meetings. Innovate flexible and creative methods of conducting meetings; promote the intelligence and responsibility of delegates in the discussion process, ensure the principle of democratic centralism and high consensus in considering and approving draft resolutions. At the same time, further improve the quality of supervision and survey activities.

Along with that, continue to innovate the form, content and method of contacting voters; combine contacting voters by topic and target group, ensuring that voters' legitimate opinions and recommendations are fully and accurately reflected; pay attention to accelerating digital transformation and applying information technology in the activities of the People's Council. The focus is on building and implementing a digital transformation plan; systematizing and synchronously deploying digitalization in the activities of People's Councils at all levels.
