Finding breakthroughs in tourism development.

The Quang Nam International Travel Conference 2025, themed “Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Sky Gate Heritage Route: Where Nature and Culture Harmonize,” recorded many contributions aimed at creating breakthroughs in tourism development in Quang Nam province.

On the morning of March 8th, the Quang Nam 2025 International Tourism Conference, themed “Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Sky Gate Heritage Route: Where Nature Harmonizes with Culture,” was held in Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province, jointly organized by the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, stated that he had requested the tourism sector and relevant units and localities to focus on advising the provincial leadership to effectively and extensively implement the orientations and directives of the Central Party Committee, the Politburo , the Secretariat, the Government, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) on tourism. This includes urgently advising on and implementing tasks and solutions to create a breakthrough in tourism development as outlined in the Quang Nam Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

“We must focus on improving the quality of existing tourism products, developing new tourism products, concentrating on the province's advantageous and distinctive products based on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, connecting tourism routes and destinations to form new tourism corridors; and encouraging businesses to invest in product development…,” Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province: Quang Nam is a land with an important position on the tourism map of Vietnam, nổi with 2 world cultural heritage sites: Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary; along with the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve and Bai Choi art - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO; with 19 national intangible cultural heritages such as: Tra Que vegetable farming, lantern making, corn silk hammock weaving, bamboo and coconut house building in Hoi An, Quang noodles processing, Ba Trao singing, brocade weaving of the Co Tu people,…

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, the Quang Nam International Travel Conference 2025 is a forum for exchanging ideas and proposing solutions for the development of tourism in Quang Nam in general and the western mountainous region of the province in particular. It also announces a tourism route connecting the East and West of Quang Nam: Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Sky Gate, linking diverse cultures, creating unique and distinctive tourism products and services, contributing to the development of the province's tourism industry, and making Quang Nam an attractive destination for tourists.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FVG Group, the formation of the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Sky Gate heritage route, along with the planning of a new tourism center around the Dong Giang Sky Gate tourist area, is a comprehensive strategy to transform the mountainous region of Quang Nam into an attractive destination on the Vietnamese tourism map. "If implemented effectively, this will become an important driving force for the sustainable socio-economic development of the mountainous region of Quang Nam, bringing practical benefits to the community and the locality," Mr. Tan said.

To further promote the role of youth in preserving national identity and provincial culture, and developing tourism, especially responsible and sustainable tourism, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union, proposed that the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, agencies, departments, and organizations continue to pay attention to creating conditions and mechanisms for youth to participate and directly contribute to preserving and building local culture and tourism. Specifically, this includes building mechanisms and policies to support youth in general, especially ethnic minority youth, in developing ecotourism; applying digital transformation and technology in tourism promotion; building a network connecting young entrepreneurs;…

At the workshop, delegates also presented papers on: Strategic orientation for tourism development in the mountainous region of Quang Nam; Solutions to enhance attracting tourists from the South Korean market to central Vietnam;…

On this occasion, the leaders of Quang Nam province awarded the Green Tourism certificate to the Dong Giang Sky Gate Eco-tourism Area and announced the decision to approve the transportation route on the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Sky Gate Heritage Route. In addition, the Vietnam Record Organization awarded the certificate for the longest covered walkway in Vietnam, shaped like a dragon, spanning across a mountain, to Hang Hop Eco-tourism Area Joint Stock Company.

Leaders of Quang Nam province and travel companies signed memoranda of understanding to link and cooperate in developing tourism in Quang Nam and announced a new tourism development corridor in Quang Nam province: "Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven's Gate Heritage Route: Where nature harmonizes with culture".
