21 safes found after flood in My Ly commune (Nghe An)

During the process of cleaning up mud and overcoming the consequences at the My Ly flood epicenter, the forces and people found many buried assets, including dozens of safes, which were returned to the households.

The historic flood on the night of July 22 caused heavy damage to My Ly commune, leaving hundreds of families homeless and losing their homes and property.

Mr. Luong Van Bay - Chairman of the People's Committee of My Ly commune said that, thanks to the participation of the Party committees, authorities and the community, the consequences of the flood are gradually being overcome, helping many people's properties to be found and returned. Among them are 21 safes, 116 motorbikes, helping 216 households to clean up and temporarily stabilize their housing.

The Party Committee and the government also directed to do a good job of propaganda to stabilize the people's ideology. Currently, there are 5 villages that must be accessed by boat and on foot.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of My Ly commune also added that as of August 15, social forces and communities have helped transport essential goods to affected people, including more than 1,400 boxes of instant noodles, 2,100 kg of rice and other essential goods such as fish sauce, salt, drinking water, etc.

The Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of My Ly commune initially supported 221 families whose homes were swept away, each with gifts worth 500,000 VND.

The People's Committee of My Ly commune has received from benefactors, agencies, organizations and individuals nationwide up to now 159 relief groups with a total value of gifts of about 6.5 billion VND and cash of about 13.1 billion VND. Of which, through the account is 7.57 billion VND, received cash from organizations, individuals, businesses, and benefactors is more than 5.6 billion VND.

The forces also promptly distributed supplies to affected households, but still encountered many difficulties in delivering necessities to some villages such as Cha Nga and Xop Duong.

Currently, the weather is still complicated, causing great obstacles to helping people overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.
