On May 27th, leaders of the Lang Biang ward People's Committee in Da Lat, Lam Dong province, announced that authorities had found the body of a 6th-grade female student who had been swept away by floodwaters and gone missing since the afternoon of May 24th.
Accordingly, at around 1 PM on the same day, the victim's body was discovered in the Dan Kia lake area after several days of searching by authorities and local residents along the streams and downstream areas.

Earlier, at around 1:30 PM on May 24th, in the stream bordering the B'Nơr B and Đăng Gia Dềt B residential areas (Lang Biang ward - Da Lat), a 12-year-old girl, a 6th-grade student, was playing with friends when she was suddenly swept away by floodwaters flowing from upstream.
Immediately after receiving the report, local authorities mobilized hundreds of people, including police, militia, rescue teams, and residents, to conduct a search throughout the night.

On the afternoon of May 24th, heavy thunderstorms occurred in the central areas of Da Lat and Lac Duong, with hailstorms in many places for a short period. The heavy rain caused a large volume of water to flow into the streams from upstream, creating strong and swift currents.
