However, the war film about Cu Chi tunnels directed by Bui Thac Chuyen still tops the box office with over 144 billion VND since its premiere on April 4, far surpassing a series of foreign films: Marrying a Ghost to Dispel Bad Luck (31.3 billion VND), A Minecraft Movie (19.8 billion VND), Construction Worker's Secret Service (13.3 billion VND), Panor: Blood Magic (4.1 billion VND)...

Find the Body: Headless Ghost based on a true story from 1987

When developing the project, producer Nhat Trung was asked to rewrite the entire script to make it closer to the real story that happened in 1987. However, he thought the case was too tragic, so he chose a more humane approach, only taking inspiration from key details to build the story.

Finding the Body: Headless Ghost (released on April 18), directed by Bui Van Hai, revolves around the story of Tien (played by Tien Luat), a corpse collector who lives with his mentally ill mother (People's Artist Hong Van) and Thanh (Ngo Kien Huy), an ambulance driver.

After Finding the Body: Headless Ghost , Vietnamese films preparing to hit theaters during the April 30-May 1 holiday season include Detective Kien: Headless Case by Victor Vu and Flip Side 8: Sunny Arms by Ly Hai.
