Durian lovers flock to the weekend buffet feast.

With 3 tons of export-grade Ri6 durian, a buffet feast in Ho Chi Minh City attracted a large number of diners to enjoy the "king of fruits" in a novel way.

On May 30th and 31st, the durian buffet area at Fruits T&T fruit store, located in Ha Do Centrosa Garden apartment complex (3rd of February Street, Hoa Hung Ward), attracted a large number of durian enthusiasts seeking to experience the unlimited durian buffet model. This is a relatively new concept in the domestic market, organized by Fruits T&T in collaboration with Vina T&T Group .

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Trang, Deputy Director of Domestic Sales at Vina T&T Group, to serve over 3 tons of durian in just two days, the company had to strictly control every step from raw material selection and transportation to preservation. The durians were selected according to their ripeness, and a stable storage temperature was maintained to ensure consistent quality when they reached customers.

"Through this program, we aim to bring high-quality agricultural products closer to consumers through direct experience. All the durian served at the event was selected from GlobalG.AP-certified growing regions in the Southwestern part of Vietnam," Ms. Trang said.

The delicious, visually appealing Ri6 durian, with its golden flesh, harmonious sweetness, and consistent quality, further enhances the appeal for diners.

As one of the early diners, Mr. Bui Nguyen Minh Hoang (Hoa Hung ward) said this was his third time participating in the durian buffet. “I’ve participated twice here and once in Binh Tan district. What keeps me coming back is the consistently high quality of the durian; it’s carefully selected, so there’s almost never any unripe or bland durian.”

"In my opinion, durian is becoming increasingly popular, not only in Vietnam but also in many other countries, especially the Chinese market. Therefore, events like this create an interesting experience for durian lovers while also contributing to promoting the value of this Vietnamese specialty fruit. If the program continues to be organized, I will definitely participate again," Mr. Hoang shared.

Mr. Pham Minh Thong (Tan Thuan ward) said he learned about the program through social media and decided to try it out of curiosity. "Before, I only knew about hot pot buffets or seafood buffets, but I had never seen a durian buffet. The durian here is quite delicious, with large segments, yellow flesh, fragrant and creamy. At a price of 229,000 VND for an hour of unlimited enjoyment, I think it's reasonable and worth experiencing," Mr. Thong shared.

Not only city dwellers, but also many diners from areas far from the city center came to participate. Many said that the most attractive thing was not only being able to eat durian to their heart's content, but also the opportunity to enjoy an export-standard product right in the domestic market.

This year, in addition to Ri6 durian as the main product, the organizers have added many new dishes and desserts such as durian butter, durian sweet soup, and other products made from durian to create more experiences for visitors.

Previously, at GO! An Lac supermarket (An Lac ward), Vina T&T Group also organized a durian buffet program priced at 199,000 VND per ticket, attracting a large number of diners.
