Gianluigi Donnarumma has reached an agreement to join Man City but has yet to complete the deal before the summer transfer window closes.

According to Football Italia , Man City are willing to spend around 30 million euros to recruit Donnarumma, who was removed from PSG's squad by coach Luis Enrique this season. Lucas Chevalier, a new recruit worth 40 million euros, will be PSG's number one goalkeeper.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that Donnarumma had agreed personal terms with Man City. However, the transfer has not made any new progress in the past week as the Etihad team has not been able to sell Ederson.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been linked with a move away this summer, with Galatasaray also reportedly making an offer for Ederson, but City have yet to agree. This is a major stumbling block to Donnarumma's move to the Etihad.

Man City also have a fairly strong goalkeeper squad after acquiring James Trafford from Burnley earlier in the summer. Trafford has started the first two games of the Premier League season, making Donnarumma's chances of joining Man City more difficult.

If there is no breakthrough, Italy's number one goalkeeper will likely have to accept being on the bench until January 2026. This is a big risk for Donnarumma's ambition to keep his starting position at the 2026 World Cup.
