A highlight of "The Love Between Trees and Land" is the exploration of practical models in local areas, particularly in the section "Behind the Rice Crop." Besides rice, farmers can implement various agricultural models that yield high economic returns. For example, the coconut cultivation model in Cu Lao Dung commune aims to gradually establish a fresh coconut export zone. Organic coconut farming not only increases productivity and reduces pests and diseases but also ensures stable and higher prices for coconuts. Accordingly, Cu Lao Dung has established an organic coconut cultivation area of approximately 263 hectares, linked to two designated export-oriented planting zones. The entire city of Can Tho currently has over 12,000 hectares of coconut plantations with 15 designated planting zones.
Similarly, agricultural cooperative models also bring many benefits to farmers. For example, the Xom Dong 2 agricultural cooperative (Thoi An Hoi commune) is famous for its pink butter sapodilla brand. From the family of Mr. Tran Van Tam to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuc Ngan, all have switched to growing pink butter sapodilla because of the economic benefits. Farmers not only receive support in terms of seedlings and planting techniques but also have connections to ensure market access, creating a stable economy. Thanks to this, Thoi An Hoi commune has formed a specialized cultivation area, and the local pink butter sapodilla has been recognized as a 4-star OCOP product.
Despite being only 15 minutes long, "The Love Between Trees and Soil" provides viewers with a wealth of practical and useful information about the development of local agriculture.
