Eastern people are industrious, hard-working, generous and very dynamic, ready to cooperate, dare to think, dare to do... Perhaps they are the people who easily absorb new, progressive values on the journey to open up the South.
According to archaeological studies, the ethnic groups of the ancient Dong Nai culture existed more than 4,000 years ago. However, following the process of expanding the territory to the South, this was a new land for many people migrating to the South. They inherited the industrious, hard-working, and intelligent spirit of the Vietnamese everywhere, and at the same time absorbed the positive aspects of Western culture and the Chinese trading economy for hundreds of years when they came to trade and settle in Saigon - Cho Lon.
It is the changes of the times, of the economic integration trend that people here know how to seize opportunities, inherit and filter new features of the old merchant, landlord and tenant economy to build new and effective economic models. For companies and large enterprises, they are willing to call for investment, cooperation in capital, science and technology and human intelligence, especially with foreign investors to produce new products, with high scientific and technical content, quality, with conditions to absorb and transfer science and technology for domestic development such as fields such as electronics, technology, petrochemical refining, mechanics, export products... In the suburbs and orchards, we always see the familiar image of people with a strong Southern character in brown shirts and scarves, simple, honest, loyal, hardworking and hospitable. In the journey to fight against foreign invaders in the past, they were patriotic, resilient and brave people. The image of "Saigon girl carrying ammunition", "rice brother" created the heroic Cu Chi tunnels of the steel land. In the country's construction today, they are new-style farmers. Agricultural economic models with creative and effective methods such as establishing cooperatives for fishing, aquaculture, processing and exporting agricultural products; building farm and garden models; investing and cooperating in converting new breeds and crops; Applying science and technology to production, creating high economic efficiency associated with types of experiential tourism services, garden tourism, homestay tourism... Tourists coming to the localities of the Southeast region are always fascinated by the natural scenery with vast green rice, bean, and sugarcane fields in Cu Chi; four-season fruit gardens such as rambutan, durian, mangosteen, jackfruit, and grapefruit in Long Khanh, Cam My, Xuan Loc (Dong Nai), Thuan An, Tan Uyen, Lai Thieu (Binh Duong) and vast rubber forests, cashew, pepper, and durian gardens (Binh Phuoc).
It is these simple, honest people, with their hands and minds, who dare to think and act to create a dynamic, constantly innovative Eastern region. And on that journey to the South, there are countless Vietnamese people who have attached themselves to and loved the Eastern region with their passionate love for the land and people...
