The conference was attended by Ms. Thai Thi Duyen, Deputy Head of Administration - General Department, Legal Aid Officer of the State Legal Aid Center of Ca Mau province; Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of Tan Loc Commune People's Committee; Lawyer Lam Van Gil, Legal Aid Lawyer of the Center, and 35 people from hamlets in the area.
At the Conference, Ms. Thai Thi Duyen introduced and disseminated the basic contents of the 2017 Law on Legal Aid and its guiding documents, focusing on issues of concern to the people such as: Types of people receiving legal aid, rights and obligations when requesting legal aid, forms and areas of legal aid, procedures for requesting legal aid, etc. In addition, the Center distributed nearly 300 legal brochures for people to take home to study and learn more.
The communication activities received a positive response and appreciation from the people. Through the Conference, people better understood the right to access free legal services, a humane policy, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for policy beneficiaries and vulnerable groups in society. This contributed to raising legal awareness, helping people know how to protect their own legitimate rights and interests, limit disputes and complaints, and maintain security and order in the locality.
Maintaining and promoting legal communication activities on legal aid is one of the key tasks of the Ca Mau Provincial State Legal Aid Center. Through communication conferences, the Center not only helps people access legal information easily, but also creates conditions for them to fully exercise their right to legal aid as prescribed. This is a practical step, enhancing access to justice for everyone, while contributing to building a community of people who understand the law, live and work according to the Constitution and the law.
