Organizing a cultural space showcasing the Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations of ethnic groups in Quang Ninh from January 27th to February 3rd.

The Department of Culture and Sports has just issued a plan for organizing a cultural space for the Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations of ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province.

The traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) setting will feature calligraphers writing auspicious characters for the new year.

Accordingly, the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) space will be held from January 27th to February 3rd (i.e., the 28th of the 12th lunar month to the 6th of the 1st lunar month), in the area of ​​the Flagpole Square, the internal road of the Quang Ninh Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Center.

The program will recreate the traditional Tet culture of Quang Ninh through a Tet market setting, showcasing and selling typical Tet products harvested from the labor and production of Quang Ninh people; the characteristic Tet atmosphere of coastal, rural, mountainous, and urban areas, associated with the traditional customs and practices of each region and the unique culture of Quang Ninh.

Simultaneously, this space will host performances of typical folk songs and dances of various ethnic groups; instruction on how to play traditional folk games; exhibitions and introductions of spring books and newspapers; calligraphy and folk paintings about spring and the traditional Lunar New Year; activities such as calligraphy by traditional calligraphers; quick portrait sketching; making banh chung (traditional rice cakes); pounding banh giay (traditional rice cakes); picking lucky branches; dressing up in traditional costumes, etc.

The traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) space aims to promote customs and traditions so that the public, especially the younger generation, can gain a deeper understanding of the traditional Tet holiday. Through this, it contributes to educating and promoting the traditional values ​​of the nation.
