Consider awarding the title of People's Artisan, Meritorious Artisan

Comrade Pham Van Nghiem, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Council for awarding the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist of Thai Binh province for the 4th time chaired the meeting.

Up to now, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has received 77 applications for consideration in the following categories: folk performing arts (flag and fan dance, water puppetry, Cheo art), social customs and beliefs (practice of worshipping the Mother Goddess of the Three Realms of the Vietnamese people). Of which, 12 applications are for the title of People's Artist, 65 applications are for the title of Meritorious Artist. The entire list has been made public on the Provincial People's Committee's Electronic Information Portal from January 11 to 25, 2025. During this time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has not received any feedback on the artists proposed for consideration for the title, and has organized to collect opinions from the community according to regulations. After appraisal, 72/77 qualified applications are proposed for consideration for the title.

At the meeting, the Provincial Council reviewed, discussed and voted by secret ballot, unanimously proposing qualified dossiers to be submitted to the Ministry-level specialized Council.

The awarding of the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist aims to recognize and honor artisans who have made important contributions to preserving and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage.
