Today's young generation is proving that love for one's country is most beautifully expressed through helpful actions that come from the heart.

Igniting love for the homeland through meaningful projects.
The inter-village road in Phu Duc hamlet, Hoa Phu commune ( Hanoi ), is adorned with a vibrant red coat these days. Hundreds of Party flags and national flags flutter in the wind, stretching along both sides of the road, creating a scene that is both solemn and proud. This is the youth project "National Flag Road," jointly implemented by the Hoa Phu Commune Youth Union and the Phu Duc Hamlet Youth Union to celebrate major holidays of the capital and the country.
“Each flag hoisted carries with it respect and gratitude for the glorious history of our nation. This idea of our Youth Union is not simply to beautify the landscape, but also to awaken national pride and strengthen love for our homeland in every citizen,” shared Le Thi My, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Youth Union of Hoa Phu commune.
Standing by the street overflowing with red, 65-year-old Nguyen Thi Lan couldn't hide her emotion. She recalled: “This image brings back memories of the old days, when the whole village would hang flags and clean the streets together during major holidays. This meaningful tradition is still being preserved and promoted by the younger generations. Everyone in the village is excited.”

In another corner of the capital, in Cua Nam ward, another youth project has just been launched with a meaningful name: "The Independence Road". This project is not only a welcome to the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Cua Nam ward for the 2025-2030 term, but also a vivid symbol of the patriotism of the younger generation.
With enthusiastic hearts, young people worked together to beautify and clean the environment, hang flags and propaganda banners. Using their hands and creative minds, every street corner was cleaned and decorated, creating a green, clean, and beautiful appearance for the entire area. This project is not simply a volunteer activity; it is also a way for the youth of Cua Nam to demonstrate their initiative and creativity in building a civilized urban lifestyle, and above all, to cultivate love for their homeland and country.
While the two aforementioned projects are steeped in tradition, in Thanh Tri commune, the youth demonstrate creativity through the application of modern technology. To celebrate the Congress of Delegates of the Fatherland Front and political organizations at all levels, the commune's Youth Union has implemented the "Youth Project for Digitalizing Bilingual Vietnamese-English Textbooks".

Hoang Minh Hang, Standing Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Youth Union of Thanh Tri Commune, said: “We have installed information boards with QR codes at the Public Administration Center, village cultural centers, schools, etc. By simply scanning the code, users can access a huge database of local history and heroic stories of the nation.” What's special is that all content is compiled in both Vietnamese and English, serving both international tourists and becoming a vibrant foreign language learning channel for young people.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, a resident of Thanh Tri commune, this method is very convenient: "Instead of wasting time searching, now I just need to scan the QR code to see the full content, which is bilingual, very useful for students to learn history and practice foreign languages at the same time."
Nguyen Thu Ha, a 5th-grade student from Yen My Primary School who directly experienced the project, couldn't hide her excitement: "Thanks to the QR code, I've learned many interesting historical stories and learned many English words to tell my classmates."
Each project, with its unique approach, shares a common goal: to awaken national pride and spread love for the homeland throughout the community. Particularly noteworthy is the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity in the younger generation's approach. They both preserve valuable traditional values and creatively convey their message more effectively.
When technology becomes a bridge of patriotism
The patriotic spirit of young people is not only ignited in major events, but also burns brightly in the national digital transformation effort, bringing technology closer to every citizen.

The pioneering spirit is clearly demonstrated through support for the two-tiered local government model, where 126 youth volunteer teams have become "community digital engineers" with the motto: "Understanding the locality - Strong technological skills - Dedicated support - Effective dissemination". They bring technological knowledge to every home and every street, guiding people to use online public services, VNeID accounts, and other digital applications for daily life.
To further promote this activity, the Hanoi Youth Union has implemented Directive No. 11/CT-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee on the campaign "45 days and nights of mobilization to support digital transformation activities in communes and wards in the initial phase of operating the two-tiered local government model".

As part of the campaign, the Youth Union of O Cho Dua Ward deployed many of its members to be on duty at the ward's public administrative service point. These young people enthusiastically assisted citizens in using online public services, using VNeID, and filling out and submitting applications.
Pham Phuong Chi, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of O Cho Dua Ward, said: "For more than 30 days, the ward's youth union members have been regularly stationed at the ward's 'one-stop' service center and deployed to residential areas. We prioritize helping the elderly, people with disabilities, and those who have difficulty accessing technology."
This initiative has received much positive feedback from the public. Ms. Vu Thi Dinh (Group 39, O Cho Dua Ward) shared: "I tried to complete the online procedures many times but encountered difficulties because I was not familiar with using smartphones. Fortunately, with the dedicated support and guidance of the young people, I was able to complete the procedures very quickly. I believe that with such capable and responsible young people, our ward will become more developed and civilized."
According to Tran Quang Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, the role of volunteers is not limited to supporting events, but also contributes to building a positive image of a dynamic, responsible generation of Hanoi youth ready to dedicate themselves: "The initial results have also affirmed the pioneering role of young people in building a modern, people-oriented, and people-serving administration."

Patriotism is also demonstrated through the dedication of Phung Quang Trung, a young man born in 1997 and a representative young Vietnamese figure of 2024. As the leader of the Skyline team, Trung has transformed his patriotism into concrete actions. He and his teammates have revived hundreds of faded, time-worn photographs of fallen soldiers, transforming them into vibrant portraits.
Phùng Quang Trung shared: "Every time I complete a photograph, I feel like I've helped someone return home, allowing their loved ones to recognize, remember, and light an incense stick in their hearts."

Phung Quang Trung's love for his country is not just a story. It motivates him and his comrades to visit historical sites across the country. Trung uses his professional skills and technological expertise from the 4.0 era to build a solid bridge so that present and future generations can better understand, love, and continue that sacred flame.
Moreover, the combination of technology and patriotism has helped the youth of Hanoi "digitize" historical revolutionary sites. The project "Digital Map of Historical Revolutionary Sites of Hanoi Youth," launched in 2023, is a project to digitize information about historical revolutionary sites in Hanoi.
This youth project aims to promote and enhance the value of cultural and revolutionary historical heritage through the creation of a digital map. Young people have digitized historical sites into a vibrant repository of knowledge, making it easier for the younger generation to access and be proud of the nation's glorious past.
It can be affirmed that patriotism among today's young generation is not a distant concept or merely a slogan. Looking at their dedicated actions and silent contributions, from community activities to creative projects, we see that the younger generation is continuing to write the glorious history of the nation, working together to build a modern, strong, and distinctive Vietnam in the new era.
