Comrades Nguyen Hung Vuong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; and Tang Thi Duong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee's Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, chaired the seminar. Attending the seminar were leaders of provincial departments and agencies, and exemplary delegates representing the Mong ethnic group in the province.

Comrade Nguyen Hung Vuong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, delivered a speech at the seminar.

Tuyen Quang province has over 21,000 Mong people living concentrated in the remote communes of Na Hang, Yen Son, and Ham Yen districts. Over the years, along with other ethnic groups, the Mong people have consistently adhered to the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; actively engaged in production and socio-economic development; participated in patriotic emulation movements; and preserved and promoted the beautiful cultural identity of their ethnic group, especially regarding wedding and funeral customs.

Currently, the organization of weddings and funerals among the Hmong people both inherits traditional customs and practices, maintaining their unique identity, while also being increasingly modernized to suit the development of society.

However, some customs and practices in certain areas remain outdated, causing waste of time and money. These negative impacts affect the beauty of the nation's traditional culture and are no longer compatible with current development trends.

Representatives from Kien Thiet commune (Yen Son district) speak at the seminar.

At the conference, delegates exchanged and shared valuable experiences, best practices, and difficulties and obstacles in the work of disseminating information and promoting civilized customs in weddings and funerals in the area. They also proposed practical and effective solutions to eliminate outdated and inappropriate customs, preserve and promote the good traditional cultural values of the nation in organizing weddings and funerals, and contribute to the "National Unity for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign.

The delegates also agreed on the need to promote the preservation of the traditional culture of the Mong ethnic group, such as clothing, language, folk songs, and musical instruments; to raise the level of education; to reduce the duration of weddings and funerals; to avoid lavish feasts, drinking alcohol, and smoking at funerals; and to prevent divorce, child marriage, and consanguineous marriage.

Speaking at the seminar, Comrade Nguyen Hung Vuong, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, suggested that in the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels should coordinate with member organizations to continue promoting the dissemination and thorough understanding of the Party's regulations, the State's policies and laws, and central and provincial documents on implementing civilized lifestyles in weddings and funerals.

Leverage the role of respected community leaders to disseminate information and encourage people to preserve the traditional beauty of the Mong ethnic group. Simultaneously, direct and guide the Front Committee in residential areas to coordinate with village heads, neighborhood leaders, and other organizations to effectively implement community regulations and customs, especially those concerning civilized practices in weddings and funerals.

Along with that, emphasis should be placed on building clubs and model projects to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Mong ethnic group, so that they can be replicated and spread throughout the community.
