| Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province |
- Sir, what is the significance of launching the nationwide emulation movement to protect the environment in the period 2026-2030 for Khanh Hoa province?
- Environmental protection today is not only the responsibility of state management agencies but also requires the active participation of the entire society. For Khanh Hoa, this is an urgent requirement in the context of the province aiming for rapid and sustainable development, building civilized urban areas, modern rural areas, and becoming a centrally-governed city in the future. The implementation of the emulation movement aims to concretize the "All People Join Hands to Protect the Environment, for a Green, Clean, and Beautiful Vietnam" project for the period 2026-2030 of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, while also linking it with socio -economic development tasks, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and major campaigns launched by the Fatherland Front. Through this, it will create a strong transformation in the awareness, responsibility, and actions of officials, members, and all strata of the people in environmental protection work.
The movement aims to mobilize the participation of all stakeholders in society, from households, residential areas, agencies, schools, businesses, production facilities to religious organizations. Each group has specific competition objectives, tailored to their actual conditions. Through this, the goal is to build a greener, cleaner living environment, reduce plastic waste, enhance waste sorting at source, and foster an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
This is not simply a competitive movement, but also a process of building awareness, culture, and community responsibility towards the environment. When each citizen changes through small actions such as not littering, limiting the use of single-use plastic products, participating in regular environmental cleanup, or planting more trees, it will create significant changes for the locality and the entire province. The launching ceremony to respond to the movement is expected to be held simultaneously in communes, wards, agencies, and units on June 6th; the provincial-level ceremony will be held in Tan Dinh commune and Dong Hai ward.
- What are the specific objectives outlined in the plan, sir?
- A notable aspect of the plan is that the objectives are quite specific, providing a basis for evaluating the results of implementation at each locality, unit, and participating entity.
For the Fatherland Front system, the goal is for 100% of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at the commune level to develop plans for implementing the movement; 100% of the Fatherland Front Working Committees in residential areas to organize propaganda and mobilize the people to participate in environmental protection. All residential areas should maintain regular environmental sanitation activities at least once a month; add environmental protection content to village regulations and conventions; and establish and maintain the operation of self-governing models and community environmental monitoring teams.
For households, the goal by 2030 is for 100% of households to register for the "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Family" model; 100% of households to sort solid waste at source; and to reduce the use of plastic bags and single-use plastic products by at least 50%. These are very important targets because households are the source of a large amount of daily household waste. For residential areas, the goal is to have at least 85% of residential areas meet the criteria of a "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Residential Area" annually; to prevent the emergence of persistent environmental pollution hotspots; and to maintain regular cleaning of residential area roads.
For communes and wards, the goal is for 100% of localities to organize general environmental sanitation campaigns on weekends in residential areas, at least once a month; and at the same time, implement waste sorting at households, and arrange waste collection points to meet environmental protection requirements.
Agencies, units, and schools should strive for 100% participation in the "Green - Clean - Beautiful" model; building a civilized and environmentally friendly working and learning environment. For businesses specifically, the goal is for 100% of businesses to register for the competition to implement environmental protection according to regulations, and for each commune and ward to develop at least one "Green Business" model...
- To ensure the movement brings about significant changes in social life, what solutions will the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province implement in the coming time, sir?
- In reality, a movement only succeeds when there is unified leadership, clear objectives, and a strict monitoring and supervision mechanism. Accordingly, a Steering Committee for the movement will be established from the provincial to the commune level. The Chairpersons of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels will serve as the Heads of the Steering Committees; members will include representatives from the People's Committees at all levels and relevant agencies and units. This aims to ensure synchronized coordination between the Fatherland Front, the government, political and social organizations, and functional sectors during the implementation process.
Furthermore, propaganda efforts will be intensified through diverse forms, tailored to different target groups. The Fatherland Front at all levels will focus on replicating successful models, innovative approaches, and advanced examples in environmental protection to create a ripple effect within the community. In particular, inspection, supervision, preliminary and final reviews, and evaluation of implementation results will be strengthened. The scoring and recognition of titles such as "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Family," "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Residential Area," "Green, Clean, and Beautiful Agency/Unit," and "Green Enterprise" will be conducted openly and transparently, in accordance with the actual conditions of each locality. Along with this, the Fatherland Front at all levels will advise on incorporating environmental criteria into the assessment of the performance of organizations and individuals; and promote the community's supervisory role in local environmental issues.
Thank you, sir!
