On the evening of June 13, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeated Kazakhstan 3-1 (25-15, 19-25, 25-7 and 25-16), winning the right to enter the final of the Asian women's volleyball tournament - AVC Nations Cup 2025.
Evaluating the match, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet said: “Although we won, we encountered some problems. The Vietnamese players’ technique was good at the beginning of set 1, then became clumsy in step 1 of set 2.

In general, the basic athletes have not met the requirements of the coaching board, and are still lacking in tactics. If we meet a stronger opponent and our mentality is unstable, we cannot play."
"The Vietnamese women's volleyball team lost a set against Kazakhstan. To reach the top, the athletes must focus more, there is still much to do to strive to win the 33rd SEA Games gold medal in Thailand. This is certainly a thorny journey.
The team learned from the victory over Kazakhstan, and now focuses on playing well in the final match. Personally, no matter which team we meet in the championship match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team must play their best," coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet added.

"Before the tournament, I thought the Vietnamese women's volleyball team would face many difficulties, but now we have won all the matches and reached the finals. I think we are not weak opponents because teams like Kazakhstan or Taiwan (China) have faced many of them in recent years. Hopefully, from the events on the field, the athletes will learn a lot," concluded the captain of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
Meanwhile, main attacker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy said: “The team still has many mistakes, we have to try harder. The reason we lost the first set in the tournament was because we encountered some problems in step 1. The teammates tried hard, encouraged each other, and followed the instructions of the coaching staff.”
