Which network has the fastest 5G speed in Vietnam?

According to data just released from the i-Speed ​​platform of the Vietnam Internet Center, in April, the mobile broadband network speed of telecommunications service providers in Vietnam simultaneously improved.

Specifically, the 5G network in April nationwide reached an average download speed of 354.88 Mbps and upload speed of 94.92 Mbps. This is the strongest improvement in mobile network speed since February 2024.

Among the network operators providing 5G services in Vietnam, Viettel is the network operator with the best 5G speed, with an average download speed of 364.42 Mbps and an upload speed of 97.6 Mbps. Viettel has 6.2 million 5G users at present, after half a year of commercialization.

In terms of geographical area, Da Nang city continues to maintain its leading position in 5G network quality with an average speed of 393.84 Mbps, followed by Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Hai Phong. This shows that 5G network has stable speed in major cities.

Previously, according to statistics from September 2024 to February 2025 by i-Speed, the 5G network in Vietnam had an average download speed of 187.58 Mbps and an average upload speed of 34.87 Mbps, 3 times higher than 4G at the same time.

In October 2024, Viettel became the first network operator in Vietnam to provide 5G network, with 6,500 broadcasting stations, ensuring coverage of over 90% of the capital areas of 63 provinces and cities, industrial parks, schools, airports, seaports, etc.

By December 2024, Vinaphone also announced the commercialization of 5G, operating on the 3,700 - 3,800 MHz frequency band. At the end of March, Mobifone also officially provided commercial 5G services in Vietnam. In the first phase, MobiFone's 5G network was deployed in central areas of major provinces and cities.

Resolution 57 of the Politburo sets the goal that by 2030, Vietnam will have advanced, modern digital technology infrastructure, super-large capacity, super-wide bandwidth on par with advanced countries, and a 5G mobile broadband network covering the whole country.
