Early in the morning of August 23rd, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Luong Ton (74 years old) was pushed in a wheelchair by her husband with difficulty to Thu Duc General Hospital (formerly Thu Duc City Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City) to wait to receive support packages during the launch ceremony of the unit's brand identity and the implementation of social welfare activities.

Pointing to her heavily bandaged leg, Mrs. Ton choked back tears as she recounted how she had just undergone her third surgery due to complications from diabetes, including necrosis and infection in her foot. In addition, she had been hospitalized multiple times for treatment of a narrowed heart valve.
Several years ago, her husband, Mr. Doan Van Dung, also suffered a severe decline in health and had difficulty moving after a stroke. Since then, the couple has been surviving on the meager wages earned by their son. However, their health has worsened over time.

"The most recent surgery cost over ten million dong, and I don't know how much longer I can manage. Today, the hospital and social welfare organization considered our case and gave us a support voucher; my wife and I are very grateful."
"Now I just hope to have health insurance that covers 100% of my medical expenses so I can receive treatment for the rest of my life and not be a burden to my husband and children…," Mrs. Luong Ton said, bursting into tears.
Sitting nearby, Mrs. Huynh Thi Thu (57 years old, residing in Thu Duc ward) also spoke with a heavy heart, as her 5-year-old grandson, X., has been living in a wheelchair for the past two years.
Ms. Thu recalled that two years ago, while healthy, X. suddenly had a seizure and had to be transferred to a pediatric hospital for treatment, remaining in a coma for 26 days. After examination and tests, doctors noted that the child carried a rare genetic mutation causing epilepsy and complications including hemiplegia.

“At that time, I thought my grandchild wouldn't make it, but luckily the doctor gave her 12 injections of specialized medicine and she survived. Her mother left when she was 5 months old, and now her father works as a bus ticket inspector to support her. Whenever I have free time, I also have to collect scrap metal to earn some extra money.”
"My family is in a very difficult situation, so for me, today's program to support the poor at the hospital is very meaningful," Mrs. Thu said before walking with her grandchild to the gift-giving area.
Dr. Vu Tri Thanh, Director of Thu Duc General Hospital, said that over the years of construction and development, the unit has always strived to improve professional quality, innovate service style, and put patients at the center.

Simultaneously, the hospital has always considered social responsibility as part of its mission. Therefore, social welfare programs, care for impoverished patients, and support for families entitled to preferential policies have been maintained by the hospital for many years.
With close coordination with the Tam Binh ward government, the Thu Duc Social Welfare Center, and the joint efforts of philanthropists, the hospital's social welfare activities have become increasingly expanded and practical, contributing to sharing the burden of healthcare and boosting the morale of those in difficult circumstances.
Based on the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to rename "Thu Duc City Hospital" to "Thu Duc General Hospital" under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the hospital officially launched its new brand identity on August 23rd.
The logo change is part of the brand identity synchronization process following the name change. The new logo is not simply a visual change but also reflects the strategic direction: modernizing services, enhancing professional capabilities, and strengthening community engagement.
“The new logo is a testament to our commitment to innovation, not only in terms of image but also in quality and responsibility towards the people. We will continue to strive to live up to the community's trust,” emphasized Dr. Vu Tri Thanh, Director of Thu Duc General Hospital.

During the launch of its new brand identity, Thu Duc General Hospital organized free medical examinations, dispensed free medicine, and gave gifts to 300 elderly people and disadvantaged households in Tam Binh ward. The program will continue for another 600 elderly people and disadvantaged households in Hiep Binh and Thu Duc wards later, with a total budget of 270 million VND.
In addition, the hospital also has other activities such as "Happy Lunch," free haircuts for patients, etc.
