On the morning of June 6, at Brigade 971 (Transportation Department), the General Department of Logistics held a conference to train logistics staff work for the entire army in 2023. Major General Nguyen Hung Thang, Deputy Director, Chief of Staff of the General Department of Logistics chaired and delivered a speech to open the conference.
Attending the conference were comrades: Major General Nguyen Van Cuong, Deputy Political Commissar and Major General Huynh Tan Hung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics; representatives of leaders and commanders of specialized agencies and departments under the General Department, along with officers, commanders of the logistics sector and logistics staff throughout the army.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Nguyen Hung Thang emphasized that over the years, logistics staff agencies at all levels have closely followed the policies of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , resolutions of Party committees at all levels, military and defense tasks; promptly advised leaders and commanders at all levels to comprehensively deploy all aspects of work, promptly ensuring logistics for combat readiness tasks, both regular and unexpected.

However, in reality, the logistics staff in the entire army still shows some limitations such as: The situation grasping, proposals, and advice of logistics staff in some agencies and units are not regular and timely; the role of advice and coordination in building logistics activities in defense areas is still limited; the content of the formal construction of the sector in some logistics agencies and units is not solid; the quality of building combat logistics documents in some units is not high...
Faced with that reality, the General Department of Logistics organized a logistics staff training course in 2023 to overcome the above-mentioned shortcomings and limitations, foster knowledge and experience to help the logistics staff grasp the new content that is of interest to the whole industry, effectively apply it in practice, and meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

Due to the short training time and many contents, Major General Nguyen Hung Thang requested that the Organizing Committee conduct the training according to the program, content, and time as planned, promptly resolve any problems arising during the training process; closely coordinate and cooperate with relevant agencies and units to ensure good places for eating, resting, living, and studying for the training staff, paying attention to ensuring absolute safety in all aspects. The teachers promoted the sense of responsibility, prepared carefully, and fully conveyed the contents according to the program. During the introduction process, it is necessary to increase evidence, illustrations, and practical connections to enrich the lectures, helping the training staff grasp firmly and apply well in practice.
For the officers attending the training, Major General Nguyen Hung Thang requested each comrade to promote a sense of responsibility, study seriously; actively research, acquire knowledge, grasp the training content and experience imparted by the teachers. At the same time, strictly comply with the military regulations and discipline and the regulations of the organizing committee.

During the 2-day training, the cadres participating in the training were introduced to the main contents including: Forecast of the world, regional and domestic situation in 2023 and the coming years affecting logistics work; guidance on the system of regular and combat logistics-technical document templates for some types of units; guidance on implementing Standard 4, Directive 79/CT-BQP dated July 22, 2022 of the Minister of National Defense on building a comprehensively strong "exemplary, typical" unit; some issues that need attention in building, adjusting plans and deploying and implementing Resolution No. 1658-NQ/QUTW dated December 20, 2022 on Army logistics work to 2030 and the following years.
In addition to the above content, the officers were also introduced to digital transformation of Army logistics; construction and operation of defense area logistics; construction of defense area logistics posture; general awareness of disasters and some issues of logistics work in participating in disaster relief.
