In September 2024, Mr. Trump first criticized Taylor Swift (35 years old) after the singer spoke out against AI-generated images of her being used to promote his presidential campaign. She publicly declared her support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

The following day, Trump responded to Swift's endorsement in an interview on Fox & Friends .

“I’m not a fan of Taylor Swift. She always seems to support the Democrats. And she’s probably going to pay for that in the music market,” he said.

Trump noted that both he and Swift were at the finals when Swift was cheering for Travis Kelce.

“So how did it go?” he asked, drawing laughter from the crowd.

While Trump has publicly stated his distaste for the Shake It Off singer, several prominent members of his family have identified themselves as Swifties. In October 2024, the president's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, took her 13-year-old daughter, Arabella, to see Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
