Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal announced that, during her visit, Venezuelan interim President Delcy Rodriguez will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote bilateral relations and expand cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, trade, investment, pharmaceuticals, health, transportation, and renewable energy.
Delcy Rodriguez is also expected to meet with leaders of several major energy companies in Mumbai – India's financial and oil and gas industry hub. The two sides will discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation in the face of geopolitical shifts and global energy dynamics.
According to the program, the Venezuelan delegation will visit facilities in India's energy, pharmaceutical, and automotive sectors to learn about industrial and technological capabilities and explore future cooperation opportunities.
The visit by Venezuela's interim president comes as India seeks to diversify its energy partners and strengthen ties with resource-rich nations beyond its traditional focus areas.
In May, India was Venezuela's second-largest oil consumer, importing approximately 427,000 barrels per day, second only to the United States. India's Reliance Industries is currently among the top three largest buyers of Venezuelan crude oil.

This is Delcy Rodríguez's sixth visit to India, following visits as Foreign Minister in 2015 and as Vice President in 2019, 2023, 2024, and 2025, demonstrating the sustained momentum of high-level contacts between the two countries.
India-Venezuela relations are built on a foundation of cooperation in oil and gas, trade, and a shared voice among the Southern countries. This visit is expected to further deepen bilateral relations and create new momentum for cooperation between the two countries.
