US President Joe Biden emphasized: " Are you ready to vote for freedom? Are you ready to vote for democracy and for America? Are you ready to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz? ".
The US President also called on Democratic voters to unite behind Ms. Harris because if she wins, she will become the first woman and the first person of color of South Asian descent to become US President.
Reuters said the Democratic Party's chances of winning have improved significantly since Ms. Harris accepted to become the party's presidential candidate, based on public opinion polls, fundraising and the crowd of supporters Ms. Harris has won.
Also in his speech, US President Biden praised the successes of the US administration during his term in office, including strengthening the US-led alliance, boosting the domestic economy , and choosing Ms. Harris to replace him as the presidential candidate.
Earlier, Ms. Harris made a surprise appearance at the Convention and received cheers from the crowd when she pledged to defeat Republican opponent Mr. Donald Trump in the election taking place on November 5.
