A senior Russian official said on November 21 that Moscow cannot coexist with the current government in Kyiv and will continue its military campaign to " demilitarize " Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Kyiv has vowed to fight until the last Russian soldier leaves Ukrainian territory and Ukraine's Western allies say they will continue to support Kyiv.

However, Ukraine's counter-offensive since early June has reportedly failed to make any significant headway against well-trained Russian forces, according to Reuters.
