According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, the total value of Vietnam's import and export of goods in the first period of February 2025 (from February 1 to February 15) reached 31.49 billion USD, an increase of 9% (equivalent to an increase of 2.59 billion USD) compared to the results in the second half of January 2025.
The results achieved in the first half of February 2025 brought the total import-export value of the whole country up to February 15 to 94.78 billion USD, an increase of 11.5%, equivalent to an increase of 9.75 billion USD in absolute terms compared to the same period in 2024.
Of which, the total import-export value of enterprises with foreign direct investment (FDI) reached 64.53 billion USD, up 11% (equivalent to an increase of 6.38 billion USD).
In the first period of February 2025, the trade balance of goods had a deficit of 3.19 billion USD. From the beginning of the year to the end of February 15, the trade balance of goods had a deficit of 198 million USD.

Regarding exports, the total value of Vietnam's export goods in the first period of February 2025 reached 14.15 billion USD, down 16.1% (equivalent to a decrease of 2.72 billion USD in absolute terms) compared to the second period of January 2025. Thus, by the end of February 15, Vietnam's total export value reached 47.29 billion USD, up 6.2%, equivalent to an increase of 2.75 billion USD compared to the same period in 2024.
Statistics from the General Department of Customs also show that the export value of goods of foreign direct investment ( FDI ) enterprises in the first period of February 2025 reached 10.58 billion USD, down 13%, equivalent to a decrease of 1.58 billion USD compared to the second period of January 2025. As of the end of February 15, the total export value of goods of this group of enterprises reached 34.08 billion USD, up 5.9%, equivalent to an increase of 1.89 billion USD compared to the same period last year, accounting for 72.1% of the total export value of the whole country.
Regarding imports, the total value of Vietnam's imported goods in the first half of February 2025 reached 17.34 billion USD, an increase of 44.1% (equivalent to an increase of 5.31 billion USD in absolute terms) compared to the results in the second half of January 2025.
Thus, as of February 15, the total import value of the whole country reached 47.48 billion USD, an increase of 17.3% (equivalent to an increase of nearly 7 billion USD) over the same period in 2024.
The import value of goods of FDI enterprises in this period reached 11.23 billion USD, an increase of 44% (equivalent to a decrease of 3.43 billion USD) compared to the second period of January 2025. As of the end of February 15, the total import value of this group of enterprises reached 30.45 billion USD, an increase of 17.3% (equivalent to an increase of nearly 4.48 billion USD) compared to the same period in 2024, accounting for 64.1% of the total import value of the whole country.
