The competition kicked off on November 2nd with a series of exciting activities. As one of the world's biggest beauty pageants, Miss Universe always attracts strong attention from the media and fans worldwide.

The 2025 season sees many changes in organization, creating a higher level of competition. Expanding the criteria, removing age limits, and welcoming transgender contestants, those who have given birth or are married, provides a more diverse and larger playing field than in previous years.

Despite some organizational setbacks, the competition still generated positive media attention. Prior to the final night, beauty pageant websites predicted that the following contestants were likely to advance further: Thailand, Philippines, Chile, Ivory Coast, Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Miss Latina, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos, and Argentina...

Vietnam's representative, Nguyen Huong Giang, received significant attention from regional media. Her story as the first transgender Asian woman to represent Vietnam at Miss Universe created a special impact and contributed to her increased visibility at the competition.

Not only did Huong Giang stand out in terms of media coverage, but she also scored points thanks to concrete achievements. She was in the top 3 of the Beyond the Crown category – an award for impactful social projects – thanks to a large number of votes from global audiences.

In terms of appearance, the Vietnamese representative was highly praised for her impeccable fashion sense, flexible communication skills, and friendly attitude towards other contestants and the press. Her years of experience in the entertainment industry helped Huong Giang easily integrate and stand out in the competition's events.

When asked about her goal of becoming Miss Universe 2025, Huong Giang replied: “I believe it’s time to write history. My appearance at this competition is to carry the hope of a community, to add meaning to the beauty and value of women. I also believe that true courage can change destiny.”

Before competing in Miss Universe 2025, Huong Giang was crowned Miss International Transgender 2018. She stated that she wanted to participate in this competition to continue spreading the voice of the LGBT community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender).
